    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

Thanks for all of the replies! I think my simplest solution is going to be to get the Snap-On socket. I am going to get one of the crowsfeet mentioned earlier too.

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

It has to be plastic or stainless because DEF is highly corrosive. No, 1-1/16" would work. I'm not sure why I'm stuck on the 27mm... Off-gighway equipment with the occasional service truck service. The equipment calls for a change every 2,000 hours. They also get changed as needed, for example...

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

That's an option too, I can always shave down the length of the socket if I need to.

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

I have done stuff like that before, so it isn't out of consideration! I need to take pics of my modified or homemade tools and start a thread, once I go back to work next week.

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

Unfortunately that's 1/2" drive, I'm looking for 3/8 drive. Thanks for the link though!

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

You could, sometimes space is an issue. It might be hard to get it to grip properly though, and it should be torqued putting it back on.

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

I never gave crowsfeet a thought, yes they would work, thanks! That's what I was thinking too. I looked at these before, I believe that's a 15mm socket that's 27mm long. I may be mistaken though. Yes, that's the cap on the filter housing.

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

Hey everybody, as the title says I'm looking for a 3/8" drive 12 point 27mm socket. Snap-On has one a FM27 for $35. Does anyone know another source to get one for. Google hasn't been much help for me. I just need it for a specific low torque situation, changing DEF pump filters. It doesn't...

    Pocket prybars

I waited 6 to 8 months for mine, and I have a dealer. He couldn't get any either after he sold the ones he had.

Air Hoses - Can you find one that will last?

Flexzilla gets my vote. Our busy heavy equipment shop uses them with no issues at all. Been at least 5 years since we started using them.

    Torch question

Depends on the tip size. How thick of metal?

    Large size wrench set

Yes definitely a friend to have! I am lucky and have an awesome Snap-On driver that will warranty anything I hand him. I do keep a cheap set of chisels from Harbor Freight for when I need a softer chisel to remove large seals from wheel hubs on heavy equipment. They don't damage the hub as bad...

    Large size wrench set

Yep, I have done that too. They are definitely life savers!

    Large size wrench set

This is the best way to deal with seized fittings, using the air hammer. Saves so much time and effort.

    Large size wrench set

I'm a fellow heavy equipment tech, although for Komatsu. I have done some miscellaneous repairs to CAT equipment here and there. That being said, I've been doing this for almost 16 years in both the shop and field service. I have MIT, Valley, and Harbor Freight wrenches from 1-1/4" to 2-1/2" in...

    Snapon Multi-Position Ratchets

Thanks for the part number. I'll have to check with my driver on Monday.

    Snapon Multi-Position Ratchets

I'm going to have to look into one of those short flex 1/2" ratchets. I've only ever seen one in person, and that was my Dad's.

    Snapon Multi-Position Ratchets

As a heavy equipment tech, I frequently use the 3/8 to reach around obstacles and have full swing. I have the 1/4 and have used it several times in cabs. They are worth their weight in gold IMO. I'd like to get a 1/2 sometime. I can see how they can be gimmicky to some, but they are a major...

Ridiculous Chinese-to-English Translation Fails on Tool Packaging, in Ads and Instruction Manuals

I have this same problem at work. It's written in Japanese and then sent to China to be translated into English. It's quite interesting at times. We have to do a lot of reading between the lines sometimes to figure out what exactly they are trying to say.
