    Old manhole cover...ideas?

Re: Old man hole cover...ideas? I would set it in a concrete slab right in front of the garage man door. A table would be awesome too, but i would be afraid that even if its bolted down it could fall over and hurt someone or damage something.

    Hornets' nest

I'm also in ma, I call those paper wasps... I just took down a small nest last week and it was empty. I would poke it with a long stick just to make sure it's empty BEFORE you scrape it off! If there is any activity after poking, douse the whole nest with the jet type hornet spray, when the...

    Your location

i have also thought that it should be mandatory to at the very least list the state that you live in. if you don't feel comfortable listing the town, you could do something like "southern NH" "western MA" "upstate NY" etc. etc. that is good enough for forum purposes, but so vague that no one can...

    Recomend a ball joint press

I am a back yard mechanic that will use this tool for many projects. A ball joint press can be used for many things that in the past I had to farm out or swear up a storm doing. Like leaf spring bushings and u joints. I have probably replaced 20+ u joints in the last few years. So I'm not...

    Recomend a ball joint press

Hi all, So the time has come for me to do ball joints on my truck, which means i can justify purchasing a ball joint press. I dont want to rent one because i would have many uses for it, including changing u joints, which i hate doing... I want to only buy this tool once. so my natural...

Best temporary heat for small un-insulated workshop

I'm planning on getting one of those big buddy heaters, as I always have propane bottles around, and I would have to make a special trip for kerosene. I'm no longer worried about condensation, but I wasn't sure before based on previous comments. This will be permanent heat, the thing that's...

Best temporary heat for small un-insulated workshop

Thanks, I'll have to look into one of those. Does anyone who has one of these notice any condensation issues? I can't afford to have any of my tools rust! Are those heaters safe to be left unattended while it's warming up? Obviously I know not to put it near any flammable chemicals, but does...

What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

I will get a picture of my ladder storage when I get home from vacation, but it's pretty simple. What I did is used 2 bicycle hooks to hang I've side, and a harbor freight rope hoist to lift the other end up to the ceiling. Then a rope cleat holds the rope securely to keep the ladder high up out...

    Inexpensive Jig Saw Recommendations

Yup, that's the one! I have used it to cut out "characters" for my son's bed room walls out of plywood. As well as cutting out a hole for an old work box in osb. As well as countless other tasks. I find that this unit has done everything I asked of it so far. With the laser guide I was able to...

    Inexpensive Jig Saw Recommendations

I bought a skil brand one with a laser sight that takes all blades at Wal-Mart. It only cost 50 bucks and I can't say enough good things about it. The laser sight is very handy and accurate. It also does not use separate batteries like some other brands. I highly recommend it.

    question about "new" drill press

Hi all, last weekend I picked up this beauty... It is a Duro power tools drill press model number f 3083 that appears to be from about the 1940's or 50's. I have since replaced the cracked belt and frayed cord. But I would like to go further into bringing this unit back from the dead...
