    Ground for sub panel question

I am going with a 30amp service because it is not a garage, it's a large shed, that is my workshop. I want separate light circuit and outlets. And a sub panel allows me to do that. Plus it allows me to also have 240v available.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

just a little observation here, the 974a pictured is NON-swivel. the 975B pictured on the otherhand is a swivel base. maybe the "a" is a non-swivel designation, and the "b" is a designation for swivel.

    Ground for sub panel question

Hi all, I'm going to be running a 30amp sub panel to my shed this weekend. I have a quick question about the ground wire. I will be using 10 guage stranded wire for both hots, and the neutral. Should I use the same wire for the ground, or should I use 12 guage? thanks Edit: I have both wire...

    Shed sub panel questions.

I am way ahead of you on the oversize conduit. I have 1 1/4 conduit. So if in the future I find it to be a problem I can easily pull bigger wires.

    Shed sub panel questions.

I have a bunch of thwn for the conduit that im going to run under ground to the shed. and i have a ton of romex for in the walls and from the panel to the conduit. but i might just buy some more conduit and go from panel to sub panel with all thwn. that depends on if i have any 12-3 that is long...

    Shed sub panel questions.

I ran the voltage drop calculator and it came back with just over 2% drop. The sub panel will not be hundreds of feet from the panel, only about 65-75 feet. when i said hundreds of feet of 12 guage wire, i meant that i have a lot of 12guage that is allready been paid for and is left over from...

    Shed sub panel questions.

The 20a limit its because I have hundreds of feet of 12 gauge wire. Keeping my copper cost to zero. the 60 gallon compressors I was looking at were under 3hp, and used about 12amps, so they call for a 15 amp circuit. i was planning on using a 20 amp single pole breaker for the outlets, a...

    Shed sub panel questions.

Hi all, I have an 8x20 shed that I use as a workshop of sorts. I currently use extension cords for power, but I want to run electric out there for ease of use. I have all the materials needed to run a 20amp sub panel. My question involves how many circuits can I run on the 20amp sub panel...

    Help with shed door threshold...

It doesn't have any slope or standing water issues. the door is approximately 4-6" above the ground level. I think I'm going to try the exterior liquid nails, and glue down a threshold and see what happens.

    Help with shed door threshold...

The snow, dust, and leaves get in by being wind driven. the rain gets in because of a few reasons, mostly from splashing on the doors and just dripping down the door and soaking the floor near the door. Some of the rain gets in from wind driven rain. The solution I came up with is to use a...

    Help with shed door threshold...

Hi all, I built a large shed last summer, and I used a 5 foot wide out swinging double metal door that I had aquired for free as the shed door. The problem I am running into now, is that the doors have a gap at the bottom that allows snow, rain, wind, dust, and critters easy access. the...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Tell me about it! I have been looking on craigslist almost daily since july... I picked this one up way up in nh. I always miss out on the good ones. It also seems that around the new england area people are asking ebay prices and not willing to haggle. Where abouts are you from?

This is my new to me 3" dunlap. usa made, and the best part is, it belonged to my grandpa! I didn't even know my aunt had it or I would have gotten it sooner! I'm planning on taking it apart wire wheeling, cleaning, and painting it up! Does anyone know anything about these dunlap vises?
