Flex Head Ratchets - Which type do you prefer and why?

I like roto heads and the single detent version that Koken uses.

Kennedy Still Good for Reasonably Priced US Tool Box?

I've personally never been that impressed with Kennedy boxes. I find their quality is rather disappointing considering their premium price tag. I've worked out of Homak chests, and their portable handheld boxes, and I've found them to better quality, and a much better value.

Tool updates and new variants we want

Milwaukee needs to make a M18 version of their right angle impact. The 12 volt batteries don't last.

Unknown Machinists Devise. Never Seen Anything Like It.

I'm willing to bet it's a custom piece made by a tool & die maker. People in that trade come up will all kinds of ingenious devices.

What to do with tools that just don't sell?

I wouldn't throw them away. At the very least, donate them to thrift stores. Even better, see if any local Jr High/High School vocational programs would take them.

finding a 20" canvas or leather bag for PDR tools?

You could get a cheap sewing machine and a roll of canvas and just make your own bags.

    Amazon Warehouse Deals

I'm contemplating not even using it anymore. Seems like a 50/50 chance they even send you the correct item these days. Not worth the hassle to save a few bucks.

    Do wobble impact extensions exist?

    I have this Sunex 4pc set. Part # 2504.

    Icon bit ratchet/socket set

Not sure why anyone would want to use the bit ratchet with sockets like that. Seems like a great way to break the tiny mechanism. Just use an actual 1/4 ratchet.

Brand new USA made drill press

This is my personal experience working in US manufacturing. I literally see it everyday.

Brand new USA made drill press

"Made in the US" is basically meaningless these days. Finally assembly might have been in the US, but I can guarantee at least half the components were imported.

Snap On pulling a Harbor Freight on Knipex?.....new water pump pliers....

Knipex's patent expired. There's tons of companies copying the design now.

    The lowly drip pan...

This Lisle 4.5 gallon one is my favorite, but it's been discontinued. The new ones don't have the splash/overflow guards.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Those are my favorite picks. I've tried the more expensive "professional" brands, but always end up going back to these cheap HF ones.

Why no ICON line wrenches ?

Tekton has been shifting a lot of their production back to the US. They hardly have anything in common with Icon/HF these days.

Tooltopia closing down their ecommerce website January 22, 2025

Pretty much. Used to be one of the best places to order hand tools from. Their prices stopped being competitive and their selection dwindled. Haven't really been relevant in years.

    Tools of Japan

The heads on those Gearwrench ratchets are on the chonky side. I don't really care for them for that reason alone. Koken makes the best knurling in the business (Their 3776N is flat out the best roto ratchet currently made imo). There's more to ratchets than just tooth count.

    Tools of Japan

I have that set. I haven't had to chance to use it too much yet, but it seems to be of good quality. I think it's worth it at that price. You're not really going to be saving much buying a different set and the handle separately, plus it's nice having the holder for everything.

Industrial maintenance needing a new 3/8 drive ratchet

I would just get a Wright ratchet off Ebay. People practically give these things away because they don't know about the brand and what they have. I work in industrial maintenance too and it's what I use. I really like their nitrile handles.
