The 40970 is still the best 1/4 ratchet ever made imo The SK 3870 is another gem.

The new SK green hard handle stuff made overseas isn't market with "USA" on the handle.

Does HF actually warranty the individual punches? I've heard of people having issues with warrantying tools from sets, as they don't stock the tools individually.

Facom makes a nice one. Although it might be a little on the small size. According the one of the Amazon reviews, that OTC kit is made in Taiwan. I wouldn't worry too much about COO. OTC is a solid brand with a good track record.

They're bulkier though and simply cant fit into all the places a traditional adjustable can.

Those are different. The fastener/pivot pin isn't flush with the surface of the tool.

I just got a pair of these rebranded under SK. They've become one of my favorite pliers.

There's zero reason to spend much more than $25 on a wind back kit. It's a very simple tool. Most of these kits are just the same rebranded tool anyways.

You're still going to end up spending more money on batteries and chargers (which adds up real fast with modern lithium batteries). Not to mention the extra space they all take up. You could run an entire work shop worth of tools on just 2 batteries if they're under the same battery platform.

Because it saves you a lot of money and space. Who wants to re-buy a bunch of expensive batteries?

I have a 18'' and 22'' Homak cantilever tool box. I've been very happy with them. I hear a lot of good things about the Trusco ones too.
