The Barage (as it is called)

Looks like standard M channel corrugated metal. Used on roofs for houses, etc. I bought all of mine for my build as pull offs from a deconstructed chicken house. Great to work with. The phone camera makes it look like it's crooked, but I assure you it is not!

So it begins!!! I have no name yet :)

Yep, I've had to do similar before too. The wood will release from the cement with a little coercion and will pop out. Likely it will be even easier since it is rotten and will basically crumble out. It won't be near as bad as you think!

Project "Machine Shed to Man Cave"

A good friend of mine is doing just this as we speak. He inherited a piece of property with an old house on it from his grandparents. He bought a FEMA trailer for next to nothing and hooked it up to the existing utilities on the property. This allows him to level the existing old house that...

    Concrete stain...

Not to undermine Legacy, but this process can be done CHEAP! I plan on using this process for my 30x40 I'm putting up. I think it's beautiful. http://www.cathy-moore.com/house/stain.html

    My Grandfather's ratchet

Thanks Muddy and Precision. It will definitely stay with me as long as I'm around. And to the next generation when they come. My grandpa had all girls, and consequently they weren't interested in the tools (not to say women can't be, just not my southern belle of a ma' and her sister! haha)...

    My Grandfather's ratchet

Thank you airbuff. It is definitely a "Duro press flange" ratchet. Patented in 1931. I can find lots of images of them that look like this: But the handle on mine is so odd, I just got curious. Not to mention the markings. Really wonder what "B.P.C.O. Serv. Div." correlates to. Very...

    My Grandfather's ratchet

Indeed. I miss my grandpa. He was retired military. Came over from Ireland in 1914, and I would be lying if I didn't say that it chokes me up a great deal restoring all of his old stuff. But I feel like it is a huge piece of my history to do this. I want to complete all of the bitsa pieces...

    My Grandfather's ratchet

So I cleaned this old girl up today, and found it very rewarding. It was jammed up, but the builders of the old world, being who they were, made these things serviceable. It had an oil port on it, and I kept flushing it with penetrating oil, and voila! Now it works like new. A little WD40 on...

    Houston we have a problem

Rick, those Craftsman tools bring back so many memories. Growing up, that's all my grandpa had. He came to the US from Ireland when he was 8 years old, did the military thing, and when he retired, he worked at sears part time....and man what a collection of the deco tools! Made me smile...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Thomas, that is Mike Geokan's Bonneville Bullet. It's Harley powered (if you can call it that anymore!). I use his scavenge pumps on several applications. Thanks for posting that man. I've been following him for years. Awesome to see he's still making the dream happen. Here's a link of the...

Suggestions on Building with Wine Crates

I've got a bunch of those as well that my wife bought me at a yard sale. Bought a few sticks of the aluminum angle iron from Lowes and cut it to fit all sides along the bottom. I do exactly like you do. I store organized nuts and bolts for metric, British, or American fasteners for motorcycles...

    compressors under $300

I've got the same one, great compressor! The little white thing is an oil fill breather. Mine just has a standard cap. I made my rubber feet out of a cut up wheelbarrow tire.
