Do we talk Garage Door Openers? Liftmaster 3255 problems...

Came home from a week long trip and our 20 year old Liftmaster 3255 would not open very far. Door would open about 12" and then close. Did some digging and old sensors came up as a common problem. In the mean time I disconnected the door from the trolly and everything worked fine, up/down no...

Looking to find a concrete driveway sealer, due to excessive pressure washing...

We recently moved from IL to SC. The home we purchased is 18 years old with a concrete driveway. Apparently down here pressure washing mold/crud off the driveway is commonly done. All the years of this have removed the top layer, slurry, and exposed the stone. What can I do to protect the drive...

Overhead garage storage, slide in or hanging rack???

Just moved into a new home from IL to SC. I will admit having a basement in IL hides allot of sins. No basement in the new home. I've seen storage systems that go above the garage doors. A) Slide in systems where the blk/ylw bins are suspended by their edge. B) The wire rack systems that...

Ridgid 1/4 sheet sander, replacement sandpaper.

Bought this one years ago and it came with several sheets with holes for the attached vac bag. I may be blind but I cannot find 1/4 sheet paper with the vent holes anywhere. Kinda defeats why it was purchases in the first place... Does anyone make replacement sandpaper for these or should I...

Going to have our garage floor coated, polyaspartic. I don't think my old style jackstands should be used on it.

For those that have had theirs coated are the old style jagged stands an issue? Current style: Would I be better off with something that won't have the tendency to pierce the floor:

New to me Snap On Tool Cart???

Found this one second hand, original owner had three and was downsizing. It's in perfect shape, he even had a mat over the top! Are there drawer organizers available without going to Snap On that will fit. That red Craftsman in the background is going to a kid in the neighborhood. Pay it...

Harbor Freight Portland Electric Pressure Washer Parts

It's Model # 63255. Neighbor recently borrowed our Portland and returned it without the high pressure hose that connects the machine to the wand. Apparently his dog got at it... Is there a better quality hose as a direct replacement or just get another hose from HF? Thanks!

Is redoing the floor going to be the rabbit hole I regret??

We've been in our house a couple years and plan on staying two more. One of the previous owners painted and patched the floor. Being a car guy and spending plenty of time in the garage I just hate the floor. I was thinking on renting a grinder to remove the old coating, paint, and level it out...

Looking for a good mechanics stool.

I had a couple from the bargain store, HF, but they turned out to be a bigger PITA than their worth. IMHO there is a design flaw with how the casters are attached to the frame using a blind nut that's aluminum. It doesn't take long before the aluminum nut strips and the stool dumps you. Even...

Looking for suggestions on a cordless impact.

One that will remove lugnuts! Kids bought me a DeWalt, DEWALT DC820B 1/2-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Impact Wrench, it didn't budge them... Not used in a shop, just my garage maintaining our vehicles.

New house, sloped garage floor. Rip it out or can I go over it???

We bought a new to us 50 year old home last fall. House has a water spigot and a drain in the garage floor. The floor is definitely sloped towards the drain. Since we've been here, there have been a few driving rains against the garage door. About 1' of the sloped garage floor extends outside...

    Small garage air compressor question.

Good Morning & Happy New Year! Several years ago I had a neighbor move away and he left me a small Craftsman air compressor. I use it for adding air to tires and basically nothing else. Problem, half the time I use it, it trips the circuit breaker... We recently moved into a new home and the...

    Sealing a concrete basement floor??

Our current home is 60 years old and we have been in it the last 23. Our current basement floor appears to be sealed as it has a little sheen to the concrete and it's amazing easy to clean/sweep up. Anyone have any idea what products were in fashion all those years ago? What we have now has...

Four post lift owners. Bolt to floor or not?

I've been doing some research on four post lifts and looked at plenty of pictures. Living in the Chicago area, quakes are not a concern. So the question. Is your four post lift bolted to the floor or not? Thanks!

    Looking at a used Bendpak...

It looks to be in very good condition but the current owner appears to have parts everywhere. The asking price has lured me in, just curious if parts are missing how much the bill will rise! Thoughts? TY!

Going to install an attic ladder i the garage, 16" on center.

Older house built like a brick (you know the rest). Looks like most attic ladders are designed for 24" on center and my attic is 16. Would the attach pic look OK?? Ignore the 2x4 ceiling note, they're 2x12's Thanks!!

Need help finding a 2-3 ton jack that will lift over 20".

I recently bought a Kwik Lift and I use an old 3 ton jack that I've had forever. It works great, but it takes 33-35 pumps to get the lift in the air. I bought a HF 2 ton aluminum racing jack thinking 18 1/2" was tall enough, but it wasn't. The rapid pump feature is awesome as is the light...
