Air compressor aftercooler idea - Will this work?

Like I said, the video was just an example of what I was explaining. Again, it's a moot point because I'm not doing it.

Air compressor aftercooler idea - Will this work?

that video was just an example, out of curiosity how it would work. And my compressor head is a 1/4NPT fitting with 3/8 tube so it's a moot point. :) I found the fittings I needed at a local hydraulic shop so I'm just going to stick with the hayden cooler I already bought.

Air compressor aftercooler idea - Will this work?

Gotcha. That's actually what I have now. Compressor head to cooler, cooler to water seperator/filter, then to tank.

Air compressor aftercooler idea - Will this work?

Good point. I didn't think about water collecting in the bottoms of the loops...

Air compressor aftercooler idea - Will this work?

So after 7 years my compressor aftercooler sprung a leak. It worked very well. It was just a thick stacked plate cooler that was only maybe 5x10 with a couple screamer computer fans on it. I don't know what it was even from, so I'm going with a new design this time around and mounting it to...

Direct wire vs retrofit LED bulbs - Efficiency?

I'm going to use the retrofit tubes I have but any future tubes I buy I'll go direct wire. As an electrician, what's your take on how some manufactures call for a fuse inside the fixture when direct wiring?

Direct wire vs retrofit LED bulbs - Efficiency?

So that answers that. If the ballast itself is only pulling a watt or two, I might as well just use the retrofit bulbs I already have and any future bulbs I buy go direct wire. I know it's another failure point but in reality I spend maybe 2-3 hours in there a month.

Direct wire vs retrofit LED bulbs - Efficiency?

Looking at retrofitting my T8's in the garage. I already have a bunch of retrofit bulbs where you leave the ballast in but never installed them yet. (I have a hard time pulling perfectly good tubes). How much power does the ballast pull when driving a LED tube vs direct wire bulbs? Is...

    High lift door conversion

Well that said the original guy just called to give me a price. $5,800. I about fell over. I told him that's out of the question. Got another shop coming out to take a look and give me a quote. The door is a Haas door.

I like that. How did you attach the hitch receivers to the cross arm?

    High lift door conversion

That's what I figure. Where did you get the extensions, or make them yourself? I'd like to get 2-3 feet of more lift. More so when the door is open, less of it is hanging out in to the garage. I'll probably be fine with my lift, as long as I keep it far forward in the garage as I...

    High lift door conversion

I went thru this way back when I had the garage built 8 years ago. 12 ft ceilings, 16x8 garage door. I'm finally pulling the trigger on buying a lift. And while the door won't be in the way too bad, I'd prefer better clearance. I only got one company to come take a look, but they're really...

Also don't know how far you are from Hanover, PA (Other side of the state from me) but that's were Advantage is located.

Advantage / Backyard buddy lifts - Talk me in or out of this..

I saw it side by side with a Atlas lift that was a few years older. They are virtually identical. The only obvious difference is the paint/powder coat on them. They seemed flimsy compared to the wildfire I saw in person. Just pushing on a post with the car on it made it wobble a bit...

Yet Another 4 Post Lift Thread - Help needed :)

I just ordered the 9k XLT as I was in the same boat. I wanted the height but not the extra width/length. It's going to be a little cramped in the garage with the lift, but I think it's a price to pay to not be laying under cars anymore.

    Whole house fan

Many years ago when we were house hunting we looked at a house that had a fan. It was hot as hell in the house, but then the agent turned the fan on (windows were already open). I was so amazed at how much air it brought in, I installed one within the first year in our house. Install wasn't...

Having Internet Fiber brought up ~200m from the road. Anything else I should ask them to throw in the trench?

Definitely throw a pipe in while the ditch is open. If stick pipe is too much, even throw in some 3/4 or 1" roll well pipe for future low voltage/fiber stuff. How close can you get wifi to where you want to put the cameras? There are some decent battery powered options out there, and even...

Advantage / Backyard buddy lifts - Talk me in or out of this..

How do you like the manual jack? I thought about it but after the sales guy told me 75 pumps from down to the whole way up I kind backed away. Then thinking about the air powered one, but that just that much more. I haven't measured the air dam on my one car yet, but I suspect it may...

Advantage / Backyard buddy lifts - Talk me in or out of this..

Thank you all. I ordered it. About 4-5 weeks out for the install. YankeeFarmer, I'm having my installed for the same reason. My wife said just pay them and know it's done right. She said if I cheaped out she wasn't going to help me build it. :) I'm trying to decide on having them...

Advantage / Backyard buddy lifts - Talk me in or out of this..

I've been mulling over 4 post lifts for awhile. I nearly had my mind made up on a Chinese off brand one before looking at the Advantage Lifts. Some of the bendpack clones (with locking ladder inside the c channel) seem pretty wobbly. I looked at the direct 8, and a atlas 8 at a friends...
