Looking for a simple compressor blast cabinet combo!

I restore cars and would really like to be able to clean parts in my shop and the air tools for dissassembly would be handy. I use a really crappy portable compressor right now that is really only good for blowing up tires. Reading here tp tools is a safe bet to buy from. They have some...

Need ideas on ventilating new workshop

First year with a new heat pole barn. Northeast. Has 2" closed cell and r30 ceiling fiberglass. One insulated overhead door and a single man-door. Finished sealed heated space is 28x40. Heated with modulated infrared tube. Attached to shop is 42x40 unheated storage. The shop is sealed up...

Looking for input on two stage vs. single stage infrared tube heater.

From reading online, looks like 2 stage is the way to go. Heating contractor says he has never installed one. He didn't know they made them - he called it 'modulated' - until he asked his supplier about them. I can get a low intensity single for 3400 or a two stage for 4300. The shop is 28x...

    My build starts Monday!

I've been picking up good advice here. I especially liked when people put up build threads with pics. I feel like I should do that to pay back. It's a 40x72x12 pole barn. It will be a 28x40 auto shop and 44x40 auto storage. 12 high is so I can put in lifts and stack cars. Still waiting on...

How do you run a water line to a slab on grade building in the north?

I know basements are to keep pipes from freezing and frost heave. If I run water to my pole barn, how do I get water up through the floor without it freezing? BTW, been round and round on buildings. I am going 40x72 and 90% committed to putting in a heated floor. Two zones. One shop, one...

Anyone use DripStop brand metal roof liner?

I only found one post on this product here. No one really seemed familiar with it. http://dripstop.net/ It almost sounds too good to be true. A metal roof with this on it saves me the cost of a wood roof (and from an earlier post) the cost of getting a code variance to all for the high enough...

    Thoughts on roof pitch?i

I'm putting up a 44x80 pole barn. Height restriction is 18'. Roof pitch at that size with 12' walls is 2.9:12. That will be a pretty low slope, though engineer stamped, for our region. I don't plan to have attic storage. Any thoughts on roof pitch +/-'s? The alternate is to go 4:12 or 5:12...

    Noob building a garage.

I have been lurking here for a while and now I think I am ready to ask some intelligent questions. I'm building a storage + workshop for my antique cars. I am far enough down the road to know some sense of what I want. My neighbor has built a 40x76 pole barn that does the job for him...
