    Looks like tomorrow's both birthday and Christmas at once. :-) I don't immediately see what the semi circural thing does either but it will probably be something to do with the headstock. Either way it looks like a great lathe!

    Thürmer, Dormer and Gühring all make fabulous threading tools. I find I like the Gühring taps more than the others, though. Dies are pretty much the same. I do like how Gühring color codes their taps. Fun fact; Thürmer still makes square (also known as old European style) threading dies...

    Ironside is just a brand and don't produce anything themselves. A lot of it is medium quality Taiwanese stuff but they occasionally manage to source some good as well.
