Thinking Like A Gear Head - Humorous

Last night I was in Wal-Mart picking up some odds and sods with my eleven year old daughter. We got some sugar cookies, shop towels, Simple Green, toweling rags, some chips and some cosmetics for my daughter. We’re standing at the check out and there’s a guy and his wife behind me. “Oh you...

1959 SNAPON Tool Box: What color/type of paint?

What a cool project. Good luck with that. I guess as far as paint goes, if it was me I'd accept that if I use the tool box, it's going to get scratched. I'd go with red Rustoleum, or similar, and don't worry too much about the shade.

    Paint Touch Up Station

I'm tired of lugging paint tins off the top shelf of my garage when SHMBO decides that we need to 'touch up' the interior paintwork because auntie Ethel (whoever) is coming to visit. I got me some empty paint tins (from the Container Store), got all the full paint tins down off the top shelf...

Small Garage Tips for The Man on a Budget

Yeah............I've been thinking about a little 13" TV and DVD player suspended from one of those TV/DVD combo brackets. Kinda the same idea as 1320stang, use it as a radio and to entertain the kids. I've thought about dropping a cable but there ain't much to watch on the TV anyway, unless...

Small Garage Tips for The Man on a Budget

I'm going to have to reign you guys in a bit. Dry erase board, ok. TV, maybe I'll find room on the wall one day. Fridge, no room, but we do have a freezer. Recliner, definitely no room, does a stool on casters count :headscrat.

    Mantopia on a Budget.....

Coming together nicely. Mantopia on a budget.......I'm in the same boat. Check out my recent thread in General Discussion, Small Garage Tips for the Man on a Budget. Plywood makes a big difference. What size compressor do you typically need to run a blast cabinet?

Small Garage Tips for The Man on a Budget

I can only marvel at some of the garages on this site......you guys are very lucky. Here are a few tips for the small garage owner, on a budget, who shares his man zone with the rest of the family. Things that have worked for me. 1. Keep it Clean I've no room for trash. If in doubt I throw it...

    Under Cabinet / Shelf Storage

I've trawled the net myself, but was unable to find the under cabinet kitchen knife / cook book four bar hinges for sale anywhere. I even e-mailed a hinge manufacturer and he didn't sell them or know where I could buy them. The drop down tray in the picture looks like a good alternative and can...

Cat box in the garage ...

I made it a condition of my wife buying a cat, that she cleans up after it. I would say, six months and your problems are over :wtf:.

    Under Cabinet / Shelf Storage

Has anyone developed a method of storing stuff in a tray or similar on a cheap spring loaded hinge under a cabinet of shelf, similar to those (high end) under cabinet kitchen knife or cook book storage systems. If so how did you do it and have you got any pics. I'm trying to develop some ideas...

A couple of pics 'under the skirt'. The boxes on the top shelf house another passion, 1500 assorted Hot Wheels and other die cast cars. Ive been collecting for about the last 15 years.

There is space above the ceiling but there are so many trusses up there that access is difficult. I have loft access through a hatch in the garage but it's above the Mustang, which is immobile at the moment.
