    Vice ID help requested

Having trouble getting this to the vice sub forum. I have 2 vises with no names on them, and was hoping someone knew the makers. The first just say " made in usa". The second I keep in my pickup tool box and the only markings are "S 2". It has 21/4" jaws.

I found this in a pawn shop decades ago and have yet to find out what it is, what it does or who made it. Without discovering its purpose I feel I have wasted m$1 I paid for it, so here is hoping for some help. Absolutely no markings of any kind. Quite heavy and well built. Similar to the...

    Looking for hydraulic jack advise.

I have read a few treads about hydraulic jack repair and "Hiball" seems to be the resident expert. I just have a question about a Hein-Werner 1 1/2 ton jack I am rebuilding. I have completely torn it down, cleaned it and re-assembled it and it works fine BUT it now leaks at the bottom between...

    Porter Cable question

Like many I prefer American made tools. Porter Cable used to be made in the USA but alas no longer. My question is, did they ever make any USA made brad nailers?

    "TIGER" hammer manufactuer

I have used a @2# shop hammer for many years now. Unlike most big hammers this APPEARS to be milled instead of cast. Most likely cast and then surface ground finish. The only marking is the name "TIGER" impressed into one side. Does anyone know who made this brand and any history?

    Vice Identification Please

I am hoping some of you vice experts can help me. I have always assumed this was a Wilton Vice. I bought this new in 1977 and have used it in my construction business every since. I had assumed it was a Wilton Vice until I started studying Wilton Vices. Though I still belive it is a Wilton...

Who knows the Wilton vise story?

I was scanning EBAY for bargain Wilton vises (there aren't any) and discovered that both COLUMBIA and BRINK & COTTON are listed as Wilton vises. Anyone know if this is just false advertising or were these lower quality brands of Wilton?

I have used and collected older American built tools all my working life. I often strip painted power tools to bare metal and repaint. I am an antique gun and knife collecter collecter as well and it is a capitol sin to do such things to these items. My question for the forum is, what is your...
