What kind of tools have you found in the road??

A more often lost than found socket. I was weed whacking around my mailbox post and saw something that looked like a double A silver battery in the grass. It was instead, a 1/4" drive 10mm Craftsman deep socket. Someone did loose it, but I found and adopted it without a second thought.

    What is it?

====================================================================== Looks like a vintage wash tub agitator. Some had a tee handle that attached a bit below the top of the handle. Appears the one for this unit was adjustable. ------ john

    Shopmaster band saw vintage

======================================= I have the same bandsaw. My dad found it at a salvage yard in the 1950s. He built an open frame stand for it, out of Aluminum angle. He had an old Bendix washing machine motor, that was equipped with a 2 speed geared transmission (wash/spin). An electric...

    Car ramps question

These older heavy ramps appear to be the type that allows you to remove the angled part. They are listed as a 6 piece set. What are the extra 2 platforms for ?? Are they just part of a second set of ramps ?? --- John

Galvalume or Galvanized for Pole building

I had a 24x40 pole barn built in 1987. I went with painted steel siding and a Galvalume roof. After 33 years, there are no signs of rust on the roof, or on the painted siding. Had a 10' sliding door on one end and an 8' on the other, along with a separate walk-in door. I shopped around at the...

    Blast cabinet dust collector help

I pretty much have the same set-up. I happen to get a blower like this for free, when the new owners of a company I was working for, were cleaning house. It was new in an unopened box, but you supplied your own motor...

    ID this pressed socket

My dad had a few of those in his auto tools. I did a search for photos of vintage spark plug sockets. There were many photos of that same one. Most said 20s & 30s Ford and Chevy. Pop had a 36 ford and a 27 T, prior to that. ---- John

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

================================== I have no idea, of the brand. There was no ID info anywhere on it. This is all I had, along with the original motor. The motor was mounted an a homemade wooden box and sat on the workbench. The motor platform was missing and had been torched off. One foot was...

    11" Delta Drill Press?

========================================== Another plus on using a 220 spindle, is that the body of the spindle is about 1/2" longer and also has a longer series of teeth on the gear track. You gain some on the length of the down feed. I plan to add a 3ed step pulley, for lower speeds. Saw a...

    11" Delta Drill Press?

=========================================== The entire spindle. The ball bearings by themselves, will not fit the spindle, that has the bronze sleeve type. One of the other 2 drill presses, that I got at the time, was a 220. I only noticed by chance, that the 2 spindle assemblies would...
