I would definitely use primer before the finish paint. We mixed drywall mud and sprayed the walls to get a light orange peal texture before painting. That helps hide slight imperfections and is still easy to clean.

I painted walls and ceiling with the same paint. Ceiling has 'knock-down" texture. I think it is satin finish. Been pretty easy to clean. here are a couple of pics with the dywall in the background. You can see the sheen of the lights on the ceiling....

Like Gary says...Get exterior house paint. It is designed to get wet. My garage was drywalled and painted with house paint 8 years ago. Never been sorry.

I use 1/8" D.S. glass in my homemade sandblaster cabinet. A glass company will cut it to the size you want. I think it lasts longer than plexi and probably less $$.. I also have window screen over the inside of the glass. I think it helps to keep most of the richocheting sand from a direct hit...
