just wondering where everyone is getting there oddball hardware. is there a good place online to order small quantities of odd bolts that doesn't **** you on the bolt or the shipping? local hardware stores don't carry much any more and searching the web im finding places selling boxes or bags...

in 50 yrs i wont need to worry bout it.... so a quick fix like that wwould do me ;p

I picked up the cheap harbor freight winch... mine will have to go on the right side of the press.. the top is too high and the cylinder is right there... so basicly I have to figure out the best way to run the cable so that both sides of the table go up equally... ive seen a few different...

I already have the press so buying new enerpac type rams is not gonna happen...

and since the winch is behind the frame how do you get your finger on the reversing lever?

have a bigger shop press.. homemade by someone. it uses large hanging cylindrical counterweights to lighten the movable table in order to move it up or down depending on what your pressing… anyhow i'd like to change it to a hand winch system (boat winch) and remove the large hanging weights...

a plasma that will cut 2" plate... or 1" plate for that matter is a rare rig not something your gonna buy at your local harbor freight

you can cut 2" with a torch but too find the tip in your local store good luck... and how much oxygen do you have on hand! I think you got the right idea with the rollers.. pry it off the ground with a pinch bar slowly block it up on some wood till you can get a good jack under it... get a few...

new bulbs and away she went... thanks for the info guys and I had no clue it was a collectors item I just thought it was a relick... sprayed it machine grey to match the lathe much better looking then **** brown that someone had painted it. anyhow its back in service for another 50 plus years...

well I finaly got back to it.. put it all together im thinking the chokes are ok since they both ohmed out the same...bulbs on the other hand. im gonna buy a new one if I can find the odd 17" size and see if that may be my issue... least get it back working with the flourescents as changing out...

well both chokes ohmed out around 28-29 ohms... not sure what there supposed to be... I believe they are both stamped 30w

I just did a quick continuity check with my tester (testlight with built in battery) didn't do an ohm check as I don't have anything to compare it too.... neither of them showed continuity though...one has the wire pulled loose as seen in the pic...the other looks fine... seems the wraping...

well I tore into her and took some pics... caps don't look stretched? not sure how they could be tested? one coil is starting to unwind the cardboardy stuff that's wrapped around the coil is hard and chipping off . delaminating?...( its old) not sure how the coils work but a quick continuity...

hey guys thanks for the info. I havnt had time to tear it open again... but what it has is 2 coils in the base that look like transformers and 2 things up at the switches (2 push buttons) which look like tubular capacitors I will try to open it up and take pics sometime next week. just that...
