    ya I cant see the need for a large indexed set, most easy outs are tapered to work with a few common size bits.. a small set say 6 or so would be great, amazon has those irwins but I wasn't sure how great they would be...vice grips are about the only great thing Irwin ever made

    Converting Jet Drill Press to VFD

    I just run my press in its slowest speed, I do a lot of 3/4 and 1" holes in up to 1"plate... I think its around 240 which is even then a bit too fast... when im doing smaller holes or pilots to reach my larger sizes I just run them at that same speed... sure the smaller bits can run faster but...

    Removing a decal

    soon as I read the head line I thought goo gone,,,and then read that you tried it with no luck which really surprised me... my trick on it is I soak a paper towel with it and put it over the sticker and let it sit for 20 or so..keeps it wet and lets her soak in a bit... ive had great success...

    looks pretty good, I don't see cold welds? I see lots of spatter in that one close up..like maybe your a bit warm? welds look pretty good in that pic, just need a clean up.

    conveyorbelt!

    check the phonebook for a conveyor company in your area, belts are changed out in industry as they wear down usually still pretty good for this purpose! but usually there heavy as hell... welding spatter wont really hurt them, only if u drop a big red cherry on them do they start...

    whats the plan with the rail? welding it to the mild steel? it will crack almost instantly if u don't use a hard to mild specialty rod... Im sure on this ;-)
