Advice for in floor heat design

Couple of questions, 1) How much hot water do you need for your bathroom? Just hand washing? Or will there be a shower? 2)How often will you use hot water? I put a bathroom in my 24x48 garage, just a toilet and utility sink, ran pex tubing through 2" pvc 6' deep in the ground into my...

    Metal file storage ideas

Really contemplating this idea! I just don't own woodworking tools at this time, maybe I'll see if a friend can cut something out for me! As for the tool roll pouches, they just dont seem to be the same length per slot, or don't hold very many, the tan one from post 35 as mentioned is real nice...

    Metal file storage ideas

Thanks for the ideas guys! I've viewed those other threads posted! Wish I could cut dado's into wood lol that idea would work well stacked about 4 high! Anyone else seen something creative? I certainly don't need all of them accessible, but a dozen I use frequently would be ideal!

How much stuff to keep really?

Just think that $3200 would probably replace the odds and ends you haven't used in 10 years... now you have all the junk, damage to your vehicle and time vested to fix that, even if its just a few phone calls..

    Tool box/chest question

Wouldn't common sense be to measure the inside diameter of your top box, then see what will fit and what won't? You say kobalt husky are cheap? I'd argue the craftsman box is just as cheaply made. If it were me I'd go to HF and pick up the large roll cab same price as a flimsy cman box with...

    Why combination wrenches?

This thread is about minimizing right? With your logic knurled nut minimize your socket collection and own every wrench... 99.9% of the time you can put a socket on one side and wrench whether it be DOE or DBE on the other side. If the work you do requires 2 wrenches because there isn't...

melting snow runoff in heated garage!

No go on installing a drain as the City wont allow one, as well as currently having radiant floor heating. (Cranking up the heat is not really an option either as the gas bill is already high.) Any ideas on how to make a non-perminant curb? Materials?

melting snow runoff in heated garage!

So I usually brush as much snow off as possible, but this morning I woke up to 1/8" of water across 2/3 of my 24x48 heated shop! From one car! What a mess! I'm at a loss for ideas to keep the water in the area where I park the car untill I can squeegee it out. Shop temp is about 60* Any ideas...

    Do you even lift?

Your options are definatly limited with 9 foot ceilings, have you looked into eagle equiptments mobileman lift? designed to be portable for low ceilings and id imagine it doesnt need a slab as thick as stationary posts. Dont quote me on that though. to measure thickness sure seems cheaper to...

    Wall Color

as version stated stick with a dark color for the first 4-5' up the wall, a broom handle will leave marks on white drywall, imagine a greasy palm print! A middle color than can be used to seperate the lower color but i would also suggest white for the top above the color you choose. Much better...

    Shelving suggestions

Perhaps some shelving with scaffolding casters that way if you need to move it no big deal, as an owner of several overhead storage shelves it is cumbersome grabbing down heavy items and putting items back. Just some food for thought
