    The 24x48 Money Pit!

Thanks Rixtrix, all winter I've mostly been collecting things. As well as building an engine and turbo setup for my crx. Here is one of the biggest upgrades I've done lately. Baby Speedaire to giant IR! :D everything is a mess, trying to consolidate and organize! I forgot to mention I've...

    The 24x48 Money Pit!

Bought my first home October 2011, My main requirement was a decent sized garage and I found exactly what I was looking for! 24x48x10! Unfortunately I've lost most of the early photos :/ but I will try my best to timeline things happening currently and try and post tons of pictures since...

    Humble 2 car tandem garage

Love the stainless sink! Well executed! I also strongly support the isolation box idea, can be simple a plywood box with a door and foam or noise canceling insulation. As far as the air hose reel goes, 2 things come to mind; the compressor will more than likely be in one corner, say you pull...

What electrical thing have you done not up *to code*

"To code" in other words as long as someone makes money in the process it's permissible. I've got my compressor wired up via some hanging wires out of the wall and a few wire nuts, surely this is 100% against any code. But it works just fine. I sleep just fine at night. Building inspections...

How to improve security on my shed?

I like the idea of "Looking safe" most thieves take "soft" easy targets, if your shed looks like to much work or too high risk they will move on. Stick some security signs out, put extra lighting up, bigger more noticeable locks.

Compressor safety. What can be done?

My compressor is a huge 150 gal horizontal, I have no idea of the age probably mid 80s huge cast iron piston. Never once have I worried about it. Now the high speed tools I'm using are a different story. I would worry more (for good reason) a cheaply balanced die grinder flying apart in my hand...

    5mall5nail5's Modest 2-car Clean-up and Setup

I knew a steevo bench was coming in this build! Awesome work Jon! You are skilled to say the least! The only concern to this point I have seen is the spray can rack in the compressor closet. I would be a bit worried about possible fire/combustion from the heat trapped in there as well as the...

    Lets see your charging stations!

Smh. Nothing even worth reading yet! I plan to build one in a wall cabinet or similar fold open access/use, fold back up when finished.

    Painting a strip

Nice little shop you have there Gary! Have you considered a wallpaper stripe? Seems a little easier than watching paint dry and hoping it doesn't bleed through the tape or peel off with it! Seems cheap and the same overall look!

What basement flooring works well with slight moisture?

Buy a dehumidifier.... Model trains aren't a cheap hobby, not worried about items in the basement being damaged from excessive moisture...

Help me with my tool list

Add a nice da sander to the list. From my experience I would rather have 10 $9.99 die grinders from h-f than one $100 snap-on, break one just move on to the next.
