    Garant & Swiss Tools

Ok, now I understand about the Garant screwdrivers, but why is the Hofmann logo printed on the screwdriver in the middle, the one branded PB Swiss tools?

    Garant & Swiss Tools

Our resourceful member Monte posted this photo The screwdriver on the top is definitely made by "PB Swiss", yet it's branded "Garant" and has the same logo as PB Swiss tools. What's the link here? Does PB Swiss make tools for other brands? Why would the Garant brand have the same logo as...

    Is Japan a player?

Over the years I don't think I've ever come across Japanese made hand hand tools. Are there any brands from Japan making screw drivers, hex keys, pliers etc? Just curious.

    Identify an Adjustable Spanner

Lol! Sorry about the pic. The only one I found. This is not the one I'm asking about. It's just similar to it for demonstration purposes. The one I'm talking about had "Made in Sweden" deeply impressed in the handle. Thanks

    Identify an Adjustable Spanner

A year ago a friend loaned me a medium sized adjustable spanner that looked kinda like this with a similar synthetic covering on the handle and itched numbers. That one had "Made in Sweden" somewhere on the handle part. I wanted to get myself one sometime and I wrote the brand down, but I...

    Allen Keys, metric vs Inches

A question: Do both variants come in identical sizes but only the marking on them is different, or there are sizes in one type that aren't made in the other?

Who makes the very best Torx screwdrivers?

I keep buying those $10 sets that are not marked but I'm told they are Taiwanese. The tips on them deform after a while so that if any torque is applied on the screw, the screwdriver's head would just spin inside the screw's head.

Who makes the very best Torx screwdrivers?

So far I've owned cheap ones that did not last long, and I'm finally buying something nice to serve me for as long as I need them. I made some research and found this super nice set http://www.tradesmanschoice.com/catalog/Stahlwille/4694.html In your experience, is this the best money can...

Who makes the best locking pliers in the world today?

Interesting design and looks quite similar to the one I posted with Stahlwille labeling which looks really superior to anything else. I am still trying to find who is the real maker of this pliers but with no luck.

Who makes the best locking pliers in the world today?

Monte, you seem to be very knoledgeable of the German tools. Can you please explain this: I found pliers that are obviously made by the same maker (identical in everything), except that one is marked Wezag and the other Stahlwille The website of both makers state that they make all their...

Are stainless-steel tools as strong as chrome vanadium-steel ones?

Not US. A UK one, and they ship overseas http://www.cdet.co.uk/catalogue/aigogrips.asp This is the stainless steel pliers I'm talking about. I can't find information about the alloy to know if it's as strong as cheaper CV steel or not, before I pay more than a $100 per piece. The aigo site...
