    Tons of Snap On

9/05 UPDATE: Labor Day week sale!! Reduced the price on dozens of items, added some great new tools, too. Check my most recent post in the thread for the new goodies and close ups of some others. I have a Google Sheet with item numbers, asking price, and the condition graded on a 1-10 scale...

    Ratchet lube

I wouldn't recommend engine assembly lube on the high tooth Craftsman ratchet. Gums them up after a month and my 1/4 seized up after a few months. Was gifted some Moly Kote that works beautifully. Use it on vise screws and slides as well.

Re: Lawn Maintenance crew Lol!! So what would you recommend for a guy like me that wants speakers in my shop? I know you're passionate about it- I don't need anything too fancy. My old shop I had a pair of in-ceiling Polk 8", wired to a stereo amp in the laundry room and a volume control on...

Snap On Punch and chisel set NEW, PPC250BL 24 pcs

Hi all. Bought a bunch of Snap On, and some of it will collect dust in my shop, so I'm going to sell some of it. This set of punches and chisels is new, and comes with every size you can think of, but I just don't need them. Never been used- master tech owned the box and tools I bought, but...

    Refinished Wilton 9300 bullet

Thanks!! The hammered effect isn't very pronounced, but the finished product looks pretty good. Hopefully a buyer will think so too [emoji3]

    Refinished Wilton 9300 bullet

Bought a very clean, original 9300 a few weeks ago and just got around to cleaning and repainting it. I was going to do a hammered blue, but it wasn't available. I chose something a bit more out there, and I think it came out great. Under bench spray booth [emoji23]

    Another Craftsman 150 rebuild

Yep that's the one I bought. Worked great.

    Another Craftsman 150 rebuild

My lock nuts are here- I actually need the little lever/set screw thing. There's lots of presses out there, but I haven't found that part yet.

    Another Craftsman 150 rebuild

I used a plumbers test plug. When you tighten the nut, it expands the rubber section on the ID of the column. Tore up the threads badly by chucking the drill on them, but no big deal- could have threaded a few nuts on there to chuck on I guess. Bought mine on Amazon for like $14, but a plumbing...

    TXNinAZ's New Project

We used to have them, but nothing available now. LED bulbs get point of sale discounts from the power companies, though. They also give a good deal on home energy audits and whole house pressure tests to find leaks in windows etc. It's weeks like this that I hate life [emoji24]

    TXNinAZ's New Project

So it was pretty hot here today. Being up above 118 does happen, but not all that often, and is usually in July or August. Took a few measurements with my contactless thermometer on the house and garage doors. West side of the house: Garage door: Inside garage door between insulation...

Re: door HW Very nice ideas! I've got some Toyota 2.0 engine guts laying around that I should implement like that somehow. Maybe make a door knocker and keep the rod and piston attached.

Wilton C1 compared to 9300 bullet

Found a good deal on a 9300 bullet today and when I put it on the bench next to my C1, the size difference is amazing! Looks like a baby bullet sitting up there!

Scissor lift placement in new build 24x34x14h

That's really what I'd like- centered, but what do I do with locating the control console? I really don't like the idea of it being 5 feet from the wall, in the middle of the floor.

Scissor lift placement in new build 24x34x14h

How do you mean? Like a steel sheet over both pits? I wouldn't be able to move something like that without a gantry crane or something. I'm not sure that's really be needed- I know it will fill up fast, but I'll end up with over 1600 sq ft in total when it's done, which is a big space IMO. I...

Scissor lift placement in new build 24x34x14h

Oh I forgot to include my reasoning for the lift choice- the Greg Smith showroom is like 10 min from my house [emoji3]

Scissor lift placement in new build 24x34x14h

So I think I'm set on my lift- Atlas FM9SL in ground scissor lift. I'm wanting some feedback on my placement, as I'll be applying for permits next week and want to get it right up front. This will be more workshop than anything- the existing 3 car (front corner will be open between the two...
