My one car workshop, "The Rental"

So keeping my promise on this I picked this up yesterday at a swap meet here in town. It is a Famco model E, 3/4 ton unit w/ an 8" throw, came with another Arbor and drive gear (not sure why there's no slop in this one at all). The seller was asking 30.00 for it and I walked out with it for...

    What's it worth? (Arbor Press)

I went to a swap meet here in Houston yesterday and in amongst all the geniuses trying to pawn off Harbor Freight tools for more than HF sells them for  I actually found something I was looking for. It is a Famco model E press. I cannot find a decent price that I should have paid for this...

Yes the top is also bobbed a normal top has 2 full sized window behind the door. Mine has 1 and 1/8 of a window (both pieces of glass are still in the slider but they are pushed all the way to the normal open position). I would show pics of the firberglass work but it was my first trip down that...

I would love to see it done with a truck gate from a Yota. I used to J10 gate because it was sitting out back rusting away and I had a moment of clarity and went for it.

Dan it is 18ga steel I laid it out with pencil and compass and cut it with snips then de-bured it with a file. I would LOVE to pick up one of the SWAG port-a-band set ups but it's just not in the cards right now. Next big tool purchase will be a disc sander and an arbor press.

Thank you all for the props on the tailgate workbench. It is one of those deals where EVERY person who sees it goes "damn, why didn't I think of that".

My one car workshop, "The Rental"

Like I said this is a rental and I'm dealing with a work space that has it's limits. Those switches were there already and they go to the outside lights that are motion activated. I've been in the house a little over a month and I've never touched them they stay on all the time.

My one car workshop, "The Rental"

Almost forgot the small parts storage. I did not want to dedicate a 2x2 section of cabinet or wall space to screws and rivets. So I went to good old china freight and picked up one of there small parts packs and screwed the plastic brackets to a 1x4 and screwed that to the studs. Dealing with...

My one car workshop, "The Rental"

The garage is small and right now the lighting consist of one 8' double T12 fixture that I installed (freebie from a buddy) this light runs the length of the garage from above the washer and drier to about the middle of the garage. This area is lit quite well. The other end has the garage door...

My one car workshop, "The Rental"

As the name implies this is not going to be a garage to park a vehicle in even to work on. My daily driver wont fit in the door so why worry about it right? The name comes from the fact that much like I do with many things, I'm working with what I have available (at the time we are renters but...

    work benches... from scratch

Thanks, the only thing that would make it cooler is to make the latch system function. It's on the long list. Mainly since I don't have all the truck side parts to make it work.

    work benches... from scratch

I have a single car garage so space is something that always has to be taken into account so I thought WAY out of the box on my work bench. I have a welding table that sees most of my heavy duty work, but for the smaller work its noce to have a place that's not covered in an oily film. In...

What did you do "TO" your garage today?

Re: What did you do to your garage today? I built a wall mount for the drafting light I bought to go above my drill press and future disc sander/grinder station. I got tired of all the shadows from the overhead florescent. I made it from scrap 18ga material I had lying around and a sleeve...

It was a nice day so I tidied the shop and took some pics.

Would you do all of your neighbors a favor and build the fence about 8' taller so that they cannot see the "junkyard" you are running out back :fawk:
