    Got a new tool cart!

The wrench organizers are about a million years old, I have no idea where I got them. One says "SK", the other is unmarked. Per my Matco guy, the slides, detents, shocks, and casters have a lifetime warranty. If I crush the box or damage the paint it is my problem. The Mac cart I traded in...

Looks an aweful lot like a Autel unit. Possibly a launch... Do we know who its REAL daddy is?

    Got a new tool cart!

So, my Mac MB199 has been driving me nuts almost since I bought it. Not that it is itself a bad piece of kit, but the two-wing sliding top and shallow main top cavity are not that great for my work flow. I really really LOVE the self-closing drawers, the down side being that the tracks for...

Astro Pneumatic ONYX Model 1822 1/2 Drive Nano Impact Review & GIVEAWAY

This is interesting! I have a similar "stubby" impact from Chicago Pneumatic, and it is a great little guy for getting into tight spaces; however the forward/reverse selector is immediately behind the trigger, and I often find that in the process of wedging it into confining spaces the trigger...

    Holy ****! (SnapOn setup)

Lol... I like it too. At work whenever my boss asks me to do something stupid / impossible I respond with "Sure, I could do that. Or I could go put my **** in a vise and hit it with a hammer. It will be just as painful and humiliating, but at least it will be over a lot faster!"

    Holy ****! (SnapOn setup)

Sure thats nice.... Check this guy out though - he is local to me, my Mac dealer sold him the box(es). He has had a pic up in his tool truck for ever, but last month PTEN did a article on it. http://www.vehicleservicepros.com/article/12019421/big-time-boxes-eric-muir-mac-tools-macsimizer

    Best O2 sensor socket/wrench

Co-worker bought that. It never seems to fit anywhere you need it to. The pipes or frame or suspension is always in the way. Plus, these are o2 sensors, not priceless jewels. If its stuck so bad that heat and a standard o2 socket won't do the trick, cut off the "sensor" part and use a normal...

    Basement garage

How much do you care about the looks? You can glue sound deadening panels directly to the ceiling with construction adhesive. You could even glue foam insulation panels and that will help with the noise as well.

    Exhaust bolt name

Exhaust bolts dont have THAT much torque on them...so I usually just weld my own "flags" onto them. A lot faster than trying to find exact replacements in situations where the head is somewhere you can't get a tool in.

    Blast Cabinet dust Vacuum

I have this: http://www.harborfreight.com/blast-cabinet-reclaimer-kit-60739.html It works fairly well. Has held up to (light) daily use for about two years. I just pull the filter out every now and then and smack it around until its clean.

    "01" dodge stratus water pump

I hope this helps. I've included the instructions for resetting the tensioner, but I'd suggest you replace it. They are not too expensive and they have a fairly high failure rate in my experience. Before this part, you will need to pull the alternator and the engine support bracket. These...

    Proper preassure for impact wrench??

Our shop lines run at about 170psi, at the tool in use I get about 165. Then again, our shop is run by two fairly large turbine compressors. I've never blown a air tool from overpressure.

What causes this to happen to a crank pulley

Because it is the cheapest way to achieve the desired results and is unlikely to fail under normal conditions during the warranty period. I have occasionally seen this failure when a belt drive accessory fails and locks up, particularly on manually tensioned systems with the tension set too high.

Quality control like this cost us the import wars

I think the issue isn't if the welds will hold - obviously they did. I think we are all mourning the death of craftsmanship here. Computers and robots sure make precision manufacturing easier, but a lot of "soul" is missing from things made today. I think OP is surprised that a vehicle that had...

    A few roofing Qs

OK, My current plan is to call the "home warranty" folks - maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised? Ha, unlikely. Once they tell me to take a hike, we are going to finish removing ALL the **** from the garage and go over the roof very carefully and try to fix each leak. If we run into problems...

    A few roofing Qs

OK, thanks for the input so far, folks. Here are some pics of what I'm dealing with. <a href="http://imgur.com/pLBYlh5"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/pLBYlh5l.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a> My poor garage <a href="http://imgur.com/hKZTJfc"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/hKZTJfcl.jpg"...

    A few roofing Qs

I'll try and get some pics tonight after work. And no, there is no truss damage. There was a bunch of junk being stored ON the trusses blocking the view of the under side of the roof sheathing.

    A few roofing Qs

So, a buddy and I started dismantling all the **** attached to the walls of the two-car detached garage at my recently purchased home to start the prep for insulating this last weekend. Unfortunately, when we moved some boards sitting the trusses, we found a few spots of rot in the OSB...
