Power bill high. Best way to find out why?

Wow thanks for the replies. I do suspect the graph is meant to strongly encourage less consumption by shaming me. Nevertheless I do still want to understand where the money goes. I will look into the products mentioned above. (maybe there will be a deal on one of them for this weekend) I was...

Power bill high. Best way to find out why?

I searched a bit but could not find a similar thread. My power bill high. What is the best way to find out why? Our power bill shows higher than the local average in the little graph from the power company. I have my own suspicions about where it is going. (water heater, laundry, heating...

I need a automotive scanner that does ABS

Update: I ended up getting a Foxwell NT510 with the Honda/Acura database. It did tell me I have a right rear Sensor problem. I will dig into that and see what happens. Thanks for the opinions.

I need a automotive scanner that does ABS

I thought about that but the Zurich reviews on Amazon are pretty bad. Lost of issues with connectivity. It makes me nervous, especially with the return policy on electronic items. At the moment, I am inclined to avoid that brand.

I need a automotive scanner that does ABS

Hi, I need to find an automotive scanner that does ABS. I am not a commercial user. My immediate use is a 2005 Honda Accord. I need to read the ABS codes, then of course fix it. I have had a selection of code readers for years and more recently use bluetooth enabled ones with my smartphone...

What should I do with these?

Thanks for the input. I am getting a few ideas. 1. A magnetic table for the drill press seems like a handy idea. 2. Some modified c-clamps where I just have the half with the screw as hold down clamps for welding might be good. Like the picture, but magnetic. 3. A magnetic fence for the bandsaw...

Need help removing these brad nails

Cut the dowel. Pull out the dowel end off the nail. Then drive out the nail from the inside. If you want to save the dowel. Cut it at an angle, very extreme and reassemble later as a scarf joint.

    Welding Table design

Stop. You will wreck it. Seriously. Take it to a machine shop and have it done. You want a mix of threaded holes and dowel holes for fast alignment of fixtures and workpieces.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I picked this up yesterday after work. Chas. Parker 103 At face value it looks to be in very good condition. It is not all beat up. The jaws are not sawed, ground, welded or broken. The screw for the little keeper piece in front was finger tight so I took a peek. I wish it was a bit bigger...

    Blade and laser/shadow to a Dewalt 708?

Hi, I have an older Dewalt 708 12" Sliding compound Miter Saw. I need to change the blade. I think it is the original one! Two questions: 1. What is a good general purpose blade. I would prefer one that is better for detail work than framing work at this point The saw only comes out...

    Welders, which cart/cabinet?

I got a Harbor Freight cart for the Lincoln 140 Mig and bottle some years ago. I had the improve the axle a bit to stop the wheels wobbling but other than that it was perfectly fine. You can hang a helmet on it and put a pair of gloves on the shelf but you will need to put your grinding and...
