    Yup When you price the parts, wire and plug it is mor expensive than cutting off a cord. So.... what I do is buy a long cord an one extra plug and get two. Of course I also have a cardboard box full of 4 outlet metal boxes with different length of cord for extension cords.:willy_nil

    how about wooden wedges. Cut some long tapered hard wood and slide them on each side. Slowly tap them toward the center . Might work!
