    got your permits?

Yee-hawww:) I just passed my final electrical inspection today. Had me worried, didn't find out until Saturday that the grounds in all the outlets had to be crimped now! Boy how time changes. Now, on to the final, 'Final'! DV PS did you know that if you have a bare concrete floor (read garage...

Replacing old garage doors. Easiest/cheapest route?

A single roll-up would be the perfect answer for you. No 'narrowing' of the opening, no tracks over head, thusly leaving you the headroom you already have. Certainly cheaper, I would think, than two single over head doors. DV PS...love the '53

What is the minimum compressor size to paint a car?

Gravity feed gun, Siphon feed, pressure gun, or an HLVP type gun? Gearhead is right on though. The compressor you described should be big enough to handle any of the three. The key is the CFM, NOT the horsepower! DV

Dodgecharger, No Sir, sorry. I have never advertised, been in a few magazines though. Just about anyone that is in the Viper, Cobra or hi-end streetrod world know of me. Any more I work strictly as a 'Ya, I'd love to do that type customization!' Sounds a little arrogant I know, but after 35...

    Guess That Tool

Satatic, exactly what I was going to say until I used the DIME for size comparison. I think Gearhead hit it right on, unless of course you have some mighty small coil over shocks! DV

Gearhead1, I think what looks like galling, was a result of the pinion going crooked when it came apart. I hand-held it together and it still spun like crazy. It simply couldn't take the torque. 'THE' Mr. Jegs was in the tower when it happened, came down and looked at it. Said he had seen many...

Luke, All my 'Double Venom' models, whether they are a stock DV or a DVII use a 'Classic Roadsters' kit. Humongus frames, door hinges are solid 5/8' steel plates and lots of leg room. No mods for a stock DV except notch the frame a little to fit the T-56 ******. DV II's now that's another story...

Mak, That's how I got the name - "Double Venom" or DV for short. The wife named it, when I got done with the first one. A nice mated mix of a Viper and a Cobra ;) DV

    Nuts and Bolts

Kimball-Midwest, talk to Rick. Tell him DV sent you. Never a mninmun, but he does prefer orders of 10 or more. He can take care of all your bin storage and every connector from mechanical to electrical. Very hi-quality stuff so be prepared for a price difference. May I suggest you use flange...

best way to remove oil from concrete???

Haven't tried it myself, but I think I will. http://www.pour-n-restore.com/oilstain.htm First one to use it, give us an opinion! DV.. Diesel engines don't leak, they are just marking their territory! (Paraphased from a great guy!)

Mak, I am strictly independant. Always have been. When I first started each company wanted you to be strictly pro-priotary, but for many reason I refused. I sell more 'Classic Roadsters' than all the others combined but I do do, FFR, A&C, Hunter, Shell Valley,Kirkham (rarely) Mid States, etc...

High lift garage door help needed

You might think about a 'insulated' roll up door. Had one installed in the new shop and is pretty amazing. Even has an electric opener/closer option. DV

    Guess That Tool

Believe it or not, you can still buy the 'Scharder' tire tool. Kind of hard to be sure, but I think the 'T' handle ratchets. Looks like 3/8's but could be 1/4" drive. Neat topic. I'll see if I can't dig up some of my old hand tools to 'show & tell'. DV

    Marking your tools?

An old eletric engraver works great. From a few feet away you can't even see the marks/initials, etc.,and it wont break through the finish. Last for decades too! DV

Let's see what's in your toolbox.

And I thought I had an organized tool box! OK, so I have a fetish for eagles. I even 'enlisted' and then volunteered for the 101st ABN- ('68-71') so I could wear an 'eagle' patch. This photo  is on the inside of my tool box lid. I haven't even taken off the protectiver cover yet. DV
