Radiant Floor Heating, Where to Start?

I'd like to go 5 but between that and the 2" insulation, I won't have much stone left

Radiant Floor Heating, Where to Start?

Would i still be able to put in a 2 post lift with all that foam under there or would the concrete crack because of the foam? Does the concrete co supply the line pump or did u rent it separate? I checked rental places around here and nobody rents them. Also, I ran into my neighbor last...

Radiant Floor Heating, Where to Start?

Hmmm.. It'd be great if I could fit 2" under the slab but the problem is I told my pole building co (verbally at the site) I wanted it built for 6" stone 5" concrete but they built it to their standard 4 & 4. Since it wasn't on the contract there's nothing I can do. They actually built it with...

Radiant Floor Heating, Where to Start?

2" of foam?!?! Wow, I might be able to get 1" under there and still get 4" of concrete but 2" will be tough. Also, how did you guys get the concrete in there with all that mesh tubing and rebar installed? Wheelbarrows don't roll over that stuff too well

Radiant Floor Heating, Where to Start?

Well I plan on putting my boiler 1/2 way down the long side of the garage so for the 2 loops farthest away from the boiler I get at least 320 ft if the loops are in a 'zig-zag' pattern. Is this the correct way to install it or should it be in kind of a circular pattern in each loop? Hopefully...

Radiant Floor Heating, Where to Start?

Hi all, I have a 30' X 40' X 12' pole building and am looking to pour the concrete floor soon so I'm starting to think about how to design my radiant floor heat system I plan on installing. I know next to nothing about these systems so I'm wondering where to start? I'm thinking I need 4...

    Pole Building Ceiling?

Looking to put up a ceiling in my pole building garage and struggling budget-wise. The metal like the outside would be almost $2k just for materials and $600 for labor!! That's about 15% of what my building cost! I would use the tuff-r foam board but my trusses are on 4ft centers, not 2 so...

    Rolls or Blown In Insulation?

I'm looking to insulate my 30X40 pole barn garage and am wondering whether fiberglass rolls or blown fiberglass would insulate better?

    New Pole Building Roof Sweating!

I still don't regret not getting the double bubble vapor barrier. It really doesn't sweat much and I think it might go away after I put the ceiling in like others mentioned. If it doesn't, I'll just sheet it with foam. I'm sure it won't cost me $1200 to sheet it!:shocking:

    New Pole Building Roof Sweating!

I just got my garage built, 30X40X12 with 4/12 trusses and the metal roof is sweating! I have overhangs all around with a full ridge vent. I was thinking this would be enough ventilation to keep it from sweating but I guess not. I only have stone on the floor (no concrete yet) so there's no...

How to Insulating Pole Barn Garage??

Not stupid but expensive!! I will have gable and eve soffits with a full ridge vent. I think the upper part will be well ventilated because of this. Also, I will be putting plastic down under the concrete. The building is scheduled for next week. Drilling and setting the posts on...

How to Insulating Pole Barn Garage??

I'm in Northeast PA. The cost effectiveness is exactly why I was thinking about doing it. I can probably do all the walls for $100. The problem is the labor my building company wants to charge - almost $700!!! They can probably have it all up in 1/2 hr. That kind of rules it out. If I get...

How to Insulating Pole Barn Garage??

Where did you get that price from? I just did a quick google search and it doesn't look like the double bubble is much cheaper than foamboard. http://www.amazon.com/EcoFoil-Reflective-Insulation-Radiant-Barrier/dp/B003XFYIA2/ref=pd_rhf_se_shvl_tab0_cpp_3

How to Insulating Pole Barn Garage??

Correct. I want to do it right but can't even afford a concrete floor yet. I hope this doesn't turn into yet another thread cluttered with spray foam comments - which is why I had to post this to begin with...

How to Insulating Pole Barn Garage??

Hi, I'm new to this site but have been looking around here and the rest of the internet for a while now but still have not nailed down the best way to insulate a pole barn with metal roof and siding. I'm having 30' X 40' X 12' one built next week by pioneer and would like to know what the...

    Where to Start???

Thanks for all the advice. I have kept most of these points in mind so far. Really the only things I'm unsure of are the size (30X36 or 30X40) and still the height. I'm 6'4" and while I do plan on getting a lift and would not want to be cramped, I'm just wondering whether it will be worth...

    Where to Start???

My wife and I bought our house last year. It's a small ranch with a walkout basement on a relatively flat lot. The lot is actually (2) 1/2 acre lots. I'm looking at having a pole building built this year and I talked to a couple contractors but was looking for some advice on size. Right now...
