    My new dream shop

Yea, that is very interesting. I found this link which goes into great detail about it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148241

    The Hammer

Beautiful! I was thinking the same thing about vibration transferring from the impact to your body but if you review Pmech's first post, he states very clearly that this is specifically for delicate/precision use. You won't be (or at least shouldn't be) driving nails in or breaking rotors loose...

FS: New 4" Starrett swivel vise, model 014

That is a nice looking small vice, if I had some disposable income I'd be very interested in it. Good luck with the sale!

Cheap walmart T-8 48" light fixtures ok ?

I picked up two of the 8045E's tonight with GE 6500k 'daylight' bulbs. We'll see how they perform tomorrow when I wire them up. I noticed the 8055E units list 'cold-start ballasts' as an additional feature on the box. Not sure how much of a difference it'll make as they both are 'cheap' by all...

    Underrated tools

I love SK and Sunex sockets, I hope to expand my collection in the near future and retire my current mixture of Stanley and Craftsman tools to the non-garage home kit. The Sunex wobblers are especially nice and are tough enough for repeated use with an impact/air-ratchet without fail.

40 Year old Craftsman Toolbox resto

That's a very tidy little tool chest. I love how it came out after the repaint in black; looks like a product of the early 60's.

Above 1200 Sq/FT The ASYLUM - Happy 40th Birthday to Me! (Est. 2005)

Very, very nice setup -- I love the vinyl idea for the ceilings; I have a similar structure and that would work perfectly. The fact that it seems to be less than desirable to the spiders is a definite plus. Edit: I'm up to speed now -- very cool thread, full of great ideas and use of space.

    Citrogarage

You guys are a class act. That is a beautiful workshop, full of character! I absolutely adore buildings such as that and appreciate the effort to restore their former glory while modernizing them for present day use.

Weekend project: 40A service to my garage

The Spyder, I lost your number, and embarrassingly, I can't remember your last name. :( If you don't mind, shoot me a PM. We have 36"x4 bulb T8 light fixtures in the barn -- should I continue the trend with 36" fixtures in the garage so we only need to keep a single style of bulb on hand or...

Weekend project: 40A service to my garage

There is a grounding rod next to the left post, I also have another to drive in next to the garage. (as stated) Spyder, go back to the [M], I wrote a short story for you. LOL I didn't buy anything yet, this was all laying about -- thanks to you and mrb I have to go buy stuff! :p Yea, I've...

NEW build 36 x 50 garage (hot rod shop)

Beautiful looking barn; the craftsmanship of the Amish is unparalleled. Really exciting to see passion in the work of a structure, something I don't think exists in Florida. :( Keep it up, very nice facility, looks like it'll be a pleasure to work in once complete.

Weekend project: 40A service to my garage

The point of entry for the service will be moved when a house is built on the property so I'm not worried about building this little run for the future as it'll be useless in it's entirety once that is done. I'll likely dig up the conduit and cabling for use elsewhere as I don't like to waste...

Weekend project: 40A service to my garage

Nope, just the two 20A lines, as I said this is very temporary with intentions of being in place no more than a year.

Weekend project: 40A service to my garage

-Can you elaborate on not using romex underground? I was under the impression that it was fine as long as it was within regulatory conduit. -I suppose that sounded wrong when I described it. I'll have an earth rod at each location for ground. I am running the extra line mainly as a pull-string...

Weekend project: 40A service to my garage

Hey guys, been lurking here for a bit and decided I should register and post up my never-ending and very slow to progress project. It started life as an unfinished, unpowered 40' x 32' garage with a 12' x 32' mezzanine above the middle 'bay'. Not much has been made of it to be honest, there...

The garage I no longer have

It's okay I sometimes think that is my garage too, but then the alarm clock goes off and I have to start getting ready for work. As for the cars and the detailed information provided by Rich? *drool*
