    I had the steel, LWS has a 2 footer cheap for down tube. I thought I could use the inside of the tubes for storage. I would save some $$$ by not buying 2 plates and a down tube. Its a 6inch. I deleted my thread off vises of gj....figured it would get buried in the 1900 pages there. I'm worried...

    Will my idea work? I have 2 4"x8" rect tubes. I plan on welding them together, as a top and 2' of 4"x8" rect tube under it, Then weld that to 3/8" plate for a base. This will all be bolted to a spun cast steel commercial brake drum. Will the 167# vise , plus tube steel top, be too top heavy for...

    Got A HUGE vise from a friend...how to start restoring it! Looks like a Columbian 605 M3 6in vise. I had ZERO idea how much these are new......WTH?!! Over 1K for a vise?

    Haven't decided on bending the sides down or welding up a frame.....now I need to get some flat machine screws for the top. It was a PITA to get the holes drilled correctly apart.

    I think I got it, I skewed the bolt holes to the right and kept the outside square.

    how straight is YOUR blade!

    Do all milwaukee 6230 deep cuts have slightly crooked blades? I want to mount a 1/4" top to it but the blade is not parallel to the screw holes and the body. Some pics of the saw and my template.... i have both degrees of what's parallel, the blade is the angled lines, the straight is in line...

    unknown TIG filler rod type

    So when I bought my Lincoln it came with a lot of filler rods. I figured which were aluminium, but there is a bundle I can't figure out. They're not magnetic, rules out ER70S. They are a brass'ish color but duller....maybe silcon bronze?

    Homemade electrolysis. What do you use?

    I used this set up for an olds 455. 12V charger with battery inline. Washing soda and water. I used metal lathe, but it got used up fast. Next time I'll use expanded steel.
