Upgrading electrical panel, looking for recommendations and ideas

BTW, all the wire in the house is copper w/ grounds, and I've already replaced all of the outlets and switches throughout the house. There are only a handful of existing fixtures (a couple of spot lights and 1 overhead light remaining).

Upgrading electrical panel, looking for recommendations and ideas

Moved into a 1959 concrete block house a few months ago. Existing service is 150A and it's a combination fuse breaker (main disconnect is fuse, with breakers for the circuits). I'm not exactly sure who makes the box, and I can't find breakers to fit it to save my life. No room left and frankly...

    Our Little Garage

Almost forgot, moved the water heater supply lines higher and built a platform for the tank to get it off the ground! I'll sneak some plywood behind those legs next week, maybe, but the hard part was done. One thing I wish I did, that I didn't catch until I filled it up with 350lb of water...

    Our Little Garage

Did some work the past few weekends. My brother and his family spent labor day weekend with us and his family was kind enough to lend his services to me to get the hairy part of the garage squared away. Undoing my past wrongs with the garage. I had installed a fan in the rear to help get air...

    Our Little Garage

We placed the order for insulation and plywood to get things kicked off this weekend. We also picked up a 12,000 BTU mini-split from MiniSplitWarehouse which just happens to be in Tampa! This is the unit we snagged...

    Drywalling Rafters

wsntwolf: How did you fasten it to the ceiling? I've been looking for options to insulating and enclosing the ceiling in my garage and I like the look. I'd probably do one more sheet between the rafters but this really has me thinking. The foil tape on the seams would look pretty slick too.

For anyone who might be interested - Pics of my garage

Love the doors. Wife just saw them and she gave me the thumbs up... Wondering how I'd get these past the codes department with the hurricane codes in Florida... I'm sure your doors are built better than any garage door you can get at Home Depot or Lowes.

Insulating and maintaining air space for roof decking...

First challenge. We need to insulate before we put up drywall. The walls are a no brainer but I have concerns about the ceiling. The attic currently vents into the garage (it used to be a carport, remember). I feel like I need to ensure that air flow gets from the soffit vents to the attic so I...

    Our Little Garage

Dan: That is great advice. Out of curiosity, why no epoxy since it floods? Is there an issue with it lifting? I do happen to have quite a few Gladiator wall cabinets that I will be making use of, however I did consider some additional cabinets on the taller wall and those soffit types will be...

    Our Little Garage

Pynikal: It's called Google/Trimble Sketchup. It's Pretty slick, and free. A ton of tutorials on YouTube for it. For me, I actually build the lumber sticks and then pop them in there. It kind of lets you build before you build. Can see where you may have a problem or issue before you're in the...

    Our Little Garage

It will pale in comparison to most everything here, but it's our little garage and it needs love too. The Mrs and I decided that after 12 or so years we need to get it done. So here we are, with the beginning of our transformation. This garage started out as a carport 60 or so years ago. When...

    Salt Life Hideout

Just wanted to say that I've enjoyed reading about your progress. The wife and I are moving back to the Tampa Bay area next month and the first thing on my todo list is to get the garage in shape so I have a place to do "old man stuff". Good inspiration, keep up the good work!
