    Porch lighting help

I have a wrap around porch on my new building and was wondering how I decide how many can lights I should install on it. It's L shaped like the drawing below, and has an 8' ceiling. I was thinking seven lights down the center, evenly spaced, around 6' apart. Should I put them all on the same...

Power to new shop, what do I need?

I went around my house and wrote down the volts and amps (or watts) for all the stuff in my house. Can you tell me how to do the load calculation? Some appliances listed amps and others listed watts or Kilowatts. How do I convert one or the other to get them all on the same page? The heat in...

Power to new shop, what do I need?

I guess I'll have to find out. I could always go through the wall and add a breaker in the house panel. I guess I better figure out how to do the load calculation first.

Power to new shop, what do I need?

I guess you can double tap the meter. The electrician I talked to is the one that suggested this method.

Power to new shop, what do I need?

I'm building a new shop and am trying to decide what kind of power I need. I know I will have: 30 amp RV outlet (the wife like to turn the A/C on when packing up to go camping) Air compressor says I need a 40 amp breaker Rotary two post lift says 25 amp currently using a 120 volt mig, but will...

Finally building my shop - 48'x72'

I've been lurking here for quite a few years. I am finally building my shop/storage barn for my 5th wheel camper and my Mopars. Details: It's 72'x48' building with a 15' ceiling, that will have radiant tubing in the 5" concrete floor. I will be using it to store my cars, camper, and all that...

How did you pour your concrete to prevent heat loss

I just poured my floor yesterday. 3400 sq ft. I ripped the 2" foam into 8" peices with a 45 degree cut on one end. then I laid it against the wall 1/2" below floor level. Then I laid the 4'x8' sheets over the entire floor. I liked this method, because the insulation doesn't show after the...

Glued PVC water line leak - help

Everything is 1" white sch 40 PVC. I used the purple primer and glue on both the chk valve and the 1" pipe. The leak is where I glued in a check valve. So I cannot really cut it out, without buying a new check valve. Wish I had a picture.
