bwell, My vise has wood mounted on both jaws exactly as LS explained. The stink in PB Blaster is what makes it work. My wife hates the smell also. Tom

B.well, I have that exact same vise. The quick release works by turning the handle until the cut out in the main screw is up (when mounted on the bench). Then the movable jaw can be slid in or out, and then tighten up less than a full turn to clamp. Mine works well. Tom

LS, Good luck on using those wrenches to make drawer pulls. I have used some old wrenches to make pulls, and some are almost impossible to drill for screws. I don't have a welder so I drill holes through the wrenches to attach them to the cabinets. Tom

Added this set to my Wizard tools today. Odd that two of the wrenches are exactly the same. Some are definitely Duro made, others are not marked "D". Tom

The thing on top is firmly affixed and doesn't move. (It looks a lot like a soldering iron tip.) The clamp is connected to the movable side of the rheostat(?). The pen looking thing is wired to the thing sticking out of the top. I believe this was in a jewelry store. Could it be a resistance...

I went to an estate sale earlier this year and bought a box full of stuff for $40. It included a watchmakers lathe and some scale weights and this item which I was unable to identify as to its purpose. I originally thought it was used with the lathe as a speed control but I don't see how that...

Shiftless, Here in the deep south, at what is admittedly a small flea market, I have found a couple of the v selector ratchets. However they are not in nearly as good condition as the one included in the Craftsman box. I bought the box for the flex head, but the V ratchet was icing on the...
