That ratchet looks like it will clean up pretty nice (not rusty or excessively worn). I would keep an eye out for a cruddy, rusty looking example to scavenge for parts. I buy cheap Craftsman ratchets for parts whenever I find them. Better one is fixed to use than both are scrapped.

joe,
My wife had a friend who had lived with many cats in her house for a long time. When this friend passed away we bought some of the furniture from her house. Needless to say, it had been doused with urine many times. I took the furniture and washed it with soapy water in the driveway...
Toppop,
You need to check the completed listings on eBay for those saw files. NOS ones sell for about $10 each, and a box of 12 for about $100. :shocking:

Doc,
I have some of these type of ratchets, but they are the stainless ones (a 1/4 and 3/8). I know that I bought them before 1989, but I don't know exactly when. I do know that I also bought several sets of the associated sockets and extensions in all three drive sizes to get the 6 point...
Hello everyone,
My name is Tom and I just made my first post on the garage sale thread. I live in central Alabama (Chilton County). I really enjoy the tool discussions and will probably spend most of my time lurking there. Thanks for this site.

Went to the flea market near work and bought these:
These were $2. A Bell System screwdriver, a 1/4 Plomb Ratchet, two proto 5/32 square, 3/8 drive sockets, and other stuff.
Eleven =V= Craftsman wrenches for $15.
:)
It was a good day for me!
