    1/2" Cordless Impact Shopping

I agree. About $150, depending on your sales tax, out the door with a coupon for what's nearly equivalent (at least in quoted specs) to the M18 2861 mid torque with a 4 Ah battery and 110 watt charger is hard to beat. My cordless is about 10+ M18 Fuel tools, no Orange/Blue/Yellow/Teal/Green, but...

    1/2" Cordless Impact Shopping

The tool shipped is actually 450 ft/lbs. They advertise the torque for the pin detent version but ship the hog ring model. No complaints on that mix up.

    1/2" Cordless Impact Shopping

I purchased this package on 11/6. Beware of the charger bait and switch. On 11/6, as my order shows below, both the picture and description included an "R840095 charger". It arrived today, 11/9, with an R86092 slow charger. I check the website and the image now shows the R86092 slow...

Need recommendations on a finish nailer

+1 for the Hitachi 15ga nailer. I also have the M18 Fuel 15ga, can't beat the cordless convenience.

Must have unique old tools that are no longer made?

The Robinson Wrenches are pretty cool and handy, solid build as well. No slop in the mechanism either. American made as well. Still may round a rusted nut though...

HF 44" Cabinet Goes Up In Price...

Home Depot sells the 46" Milwaukee cabinet for only about $50 more if I recall. That's assuming you can find one in stock...

    Ryobi Table Saw

I had that model, but upgraded and sold it recently as its limitations were (mostly) obvious before I even purchased it. Small table, loud shaky universal motor, lightweight construction, limited - if any dado width, and that terrible fence. Biggest surprise was that the miter slot wasn't...

Replace Craftsman Pro screwdriver set with???

Felo. Ergonic, Frico 550, Beech Wood, M-Tec - all great. Absolute best I've tried, and I own a lot. PB Swiss are a close second, the Swiss Grip isn't quite as Ergo feeling as the Felo's, but still a pleasure to use, however at their price I'd hardly call them a "Craftsman Replacement". They...

    MAC Ratchet with BRASS Drive?

Yeah, I doubt a partial brass tool would pass safety standards at a site that requires them. My thought is that perhaps someone used a non-sparking part in a rebuild.

Small up and coming tool companies?

I second the Wera and Wiha, although they were founded in 1936 and 1939, respectively. I guess they're still "new" to most US consumers. Don't forget Felo, founded in 1950, but also "newer" to the US market.

    MAC Ratchet with BRASS Drive?

Ampro and others make a brass-like alloy for non-sparking ratchets and other tools to be used in environments where sparks = death, however, this alloy is also non-magnetic so I doubt that's why it looks that.

    Harbour Freight Addiction Thread

This sounds like an addition to huffing water colors, why would you do this to yourself?

School me on chisels please. (wood working)

For the price (<$40) I doubt you'll be disappointed in the Narex. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GPC74ZQ/?tag=atomicindus08-20 True imperial will run about $10 more.

Kinda Frustrated With DIY Mechanics Tool Brand Selection

They're far from "DIY" quality, but if you can plan ahead well enough to manage a 2 week wait for shipping amazon.de has some great prices on their domestic tools. I've gotten Stahlwille and Hazet wrench and socket sets for well under $100 each, and Felo, Knipex, Wera, and Wiha tools for Kobalt...

Lenox 52" work station - made in USA

Browsing Lowes today this caught my eye. It was boxed up in a corner with a tag implying it wasn’t to be broken down and displayed until a future date. From what I could see its 12 drawers, “heavy duty” (whatever that’s worth), and made in the USA. Color and drawer configuration wasn’t apparent...

    Combination wrench thickness

I have Stahlwille 13s, Snap Ons, SK Superkrome, Wera Jokers, and all kinds of craftsman. Always reach for the Stahlwille first. Super thin, surprisingly light, and exceptionally strong. I believe Stahlwille posts all their dimensions online in their catalog, but if you can't find them I could...
