    3Phase From 2 Services?

Not trying to start a war. Really. Just trying to clarify, or learn. Look at my other posts on the forum....I'm not exactly a troublemaker. :) See my above post. The waveform only shifts, depending on your reference point. Change the reference point to one end of the winding, perfectly in...

    3Phase From 2 Services?

Yep, I did.... A transformer supplying a three-wire distribution system has a single-phase input (primary) winding. The output (secondary) winding is center-tapped and the center tap connected to a grounded neutral. As shown in Fig. 1. either end to center has half the voltage of end-to-end...

    3Phase From 2 Services?

Not really. Single phase is single phase. If they were 180* out of phase with each other, they would cancel. 220 (240) is the voltage from end of winding, to end of winding, on the transformer. The Neutral is just a center tap in that winding, creating 110 (120) to either winding end.

    Sub panel ground help!

Yep...in my effort to reply, I was more answering from the perspective that he already had them, so the shouldn't be returned. If there was no mention, I would have been more insistent.

    Sub panel ground help!

Nope...you NEED four wires. The Ground must be carried to any sub panel, whether it is in the same building or a different building. The Ground rods at the sub panel can be used, bonding them to the ground conductor carried from the main panel. The sub panel MUST have a isolated ground and...

What is the purpose of liquid nails when sistering joists

Sure there is....a lot of integrity. One member 3" wide is much stronger than two 1.5" members that can rack and twist. Nails and screws? Those are to just hold it until the glue dries. :)

    Asphalt driveways - MN

Have you gotten a quote for concrete yet? With the price of oil, and asphalt using a lot of it, the premium for concrete might not be as much as you think it is.

Dorman or Auto 7 replacement parts??

This. Dorman has been around for at least 20 years, 'cause I was using thier stuff that long ago. I just last week installed a window regulator for the EXPI, purchased from www.Rockauto.com. Perfect. EXACT Fit, same holes in the same places, if anything, the stamped parts seemed thicker, and...

    Cat5e or Cat6 cable?

I agree, there is just not that much of a price difference between the two. As I, and someone else pointed to, use Monoprice. Great stuff, Great price. The price difference between cat5e and cat6 for 1000' of whatever color you want is $25. (Cat5e is $80, Cat6 is $105) The bigger cost...

    Cat5e or Cat6 cable?

My 2 cents, which is what I did, so of course I think its the right way. :D Go Cat6. You can get gig speeds out of Cat5e, you'll have more margin to do so with Cat6. The tighter twists, and separator inside the cable give alot more noise rejection. I have never seen a perfect cable run...

sandpaper and abrasives -how do you store them?

Not for the first knock-down on Body filler. It seems like no matter how good you are filler, and how thin you spread it, you still end up with ridges between strokes. Take the ridges off with 36, then move your way up. Back in the day, we had just longboards, and air operated longboards.

sandpaper and abrasives -how do you store them?

Its for longboard sanding blocks, typically used when your blocking automotive body panels, to prevent wavy panels. like this:

2 sets of lights using 12/3 wire Controled seperatly?

Or, just skip the switch-loop mentality, and wire like a farmer. Black is switched hot for one half, Red is switched hot for the other half, an and white is neutral....

    Epoxy Coat

I'm confused....I've heard of water based epoxy, and true two part epoxy, but not solvent based. Is it like water based, just using a solvent to dry? (Rather than a true two part epoxy?) What products are solvent based?

    Epoxy Coat

Sure, Just make sure that the concrete isn't too new. It can't be green. I think the rule of thumb is at least 30 days old. I concur with the opinion that a properly etched floor gives plenty of bite for the epoxy. I am not nice to my floor. I drag stuff, drop stuff, and it just 'shrugs'...

THAT sound like the voice of experience there...heh. (not being smug...I certainly know that I've stood looking at a fresh run thinking I needed a wire stretcher!)

    Trailer Parking -- Need Suggestions

This would be my reason from staying way from gravel and stone...Think about how many cars, after a period of time, stored in a dirt floor barn, are destroyed. The dirt never really sees direct rain, but just the moisture coming up from the sub-soil does take it toll. If your changing...
