    HVAC Duct Booster Fan

I also have a similar issue with the master bedroom and master bath at the other end of the house. The master bedroom has 2 vents and the bath has one. Being the usual under the door return doesn’t allow for enough air return there is a through the wall vent above the door. I installed a...

What do you use for lawn equipment fuel storage stabilization?

2-cycle motors get the engineered fuel (Stihl) and run dry. ATV and Zero-Turn get seafoam. The closest non-ethanol fuel sources are 20 miles away and not a direction I normally go. I wish there was a closer source as I’d run it in the Harley too.

Metal Ceilings in any color but white

Per another thread a sky blue ceiling is supposed to help reduce the number of “mud dauber” nests if you have issues where you live.

    wasps - mud daubers

Winter time is the best time to dispose of the mud nests. They are making their final metamorphosis/over wintering until spring. By destroying the nests, it affects numbers for the next generation.

Network cables, telephone, alarm system - conduit

Run 4 cat 5 for phone and internet and a spare pull cord to make any additions easier. You’ll have 2 in service and 2 spares. Regarding security and intercom, not sure what the requirements are for those. Again run spares and a pull cord for additional lines in the future.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

From the picture it looks like it is a Kenmore.

    wasps - mud daubers

Even if I could close up all the other holes in my shop, the areas around the roll up doors will be not able to be sealed so they will always have a way in. If one starts to build a nest where it impacts me then I take care of it. Most of the time, they are out of the way and I never see it...

The Tool You Don't Want to Need: First Aid Kit

Bandaids over time lose their ability to adhere, especially off brands so you need to be sure and replace them every so often. While I don’t keep a 1st aid kit in the garage/shop, it is 25’ to the house where I have a full trauma kit as well as basic first aid kits.

    Killing Ants: What actually works?

Fire ants... Gallon jug of water, add a cup of dawn, mix up and pour on mound. By breaking the surface tension, it drowns the colony.

concrete specialist, talk me out of this.

    Deformable lighting?

I use the 4’ LED shop lights from Costco as I don’t have any Edison bases in my shop. I can see those “deformable” lights not casting a consistent light over the area....plus with all the “adjustments” it would be easier to break something off it it got hit or bumped.

How important is SEER rating on mini splits for a garage?

A 20 SEER unit is more efficient than a 16 SEER unit which equates to savings on the power bill as I understand it.

I think I need a new start capacitor.

You can test the capacitor, some multimeters have a capacitor test function. Granted those caps are not expensive.

    Garage TV

I am in this camp as well. I leave a stereo on (low volume) all the time as it reminds me of the AM radio that my grandparents had in their garage/shop decades ago. Also for a period of time I was having an intermittent breaker trip so it was a indicator that it had tripped. When I am in there...
