    Tools from the old world

Have some Nepros metric sockets I just ordered for 3/8" drive. Don't have much to compare them too (a snap-on semi-deep, craftsman 1/2" sets, and Willians US 1/4"). I've heard that Nepros just might be the best. Ordered them because they were a bit cheaper than Stahlwille and Hazet. Looking...

    Tool buying advice.

You have some good initial thoughts and received some good recommendations. As someone doing basically the same as you I'd add two things: A. Look at Williams USA made tools - whether or not they are the same as Snapon, I've had really good luck. B. Consider German, Spanish (Bahco), and...

    Screwdriver recommendations (UK)

I love my PB Swiss but they'd be a bit more dear than the wera I believe. Have a few vessel as well and they have some of the best grippy handles I've tried. I'd take a long look at Bahco. Take a look through the epic and massive old world tools thread - lots of ideas there. I don't know if...

    Ratcheting Screwdriver Advice

Bits don't store in handle so might not be an option for the OP but what experience does anyone have with the Wiha Topra?

    German-Hand-Tools

Got a couple of NWS pliers from Ash for my birthday. Got there fast but still had to 'wait for the day' lol. The handles on them are nice. The action on the needle nose are nice; the other is just a bit stiff but I think it'll loosen up. Great experience and already planning on what I'll get...

Cornwell 30t vs SO dual 80 long ratchet

I can't remember the reasoning but someone on here a while back was talking about why they used lower tooth count long ratchets and at the time it made sense. I'm open to other brands as well. Only thing I don't want is something made in China. I'm a hobbyist so I can afford whichever but I'm...

Cornwell 30t vs SO dual 80 long ratchet

Had the need working on my MINI Cooper recently for a longer handled ratchet than what I had available. I have only 'standard' sized ratchets in each size I had. So I find myself looking for a long handle 3/8" drive ratchet. I decided I might as well try flex head while I'm at it as it might...

Anyone buy a this tool roll from Epsteins?

I have one and it's very tough and well made. My only complaint with the one I have is that the sleeves get very deep very quickly.

Trying to choose a stubby - Facom, Nepros, SO

LOL, yeah the Mac does look like a sweet design. Just noticed that Nepros has a 90 tooth stubby out now - priced just a couple of bucks more than the SO. So now I've got it narrowed down to three or four more than what I started with :\

They say MILSPEC; they must think that the DOD is paying for them.

Trying to choose a stubby - Facom, Nepros, SO

Took stock of my 3/8" dr set-up today. I knew I needed sockets and as it turns out I only have one (17mm snap-on). I do have extensions, a speed handle, and a Williams round head ratchet. One set I had in 1/4" I thought was 3/8" is how I ended up with ratchet and no sockets lol. I'd like to...

Trying to choose a stubby - Facom, Nepros, SO

I've heard good things about Cornwell; I was thinking about going with one of there 30 tooth long ratchets after reading about them on here not long ago.

Trying to choose a stubby - Facom, Nepros, SO

I'd like a 3/8" stubby ratchet. The leading candidates are Facom and Nepros. I'm also wondering if the Dual 80 Snap-on is worth twice as much. Input on the choice? Something else to consider? TIA Tony
