Called the 3 HF stores close to me and none of them have the new gloss box, but they told me the new boxes should be sold at their "regular" price of $389.

Were they selling the new boxes for the same price as the older ones?

I do not think it will make any difference for dents or dings, but the old crinkle finish may be a little more resistant to scratches and even if it isn't, at least it should be less noticeable. I am just happy to see it is powder-coated, but then again shipping weight is only 1 lb, go figure...

Like others have said, there is a $100 off coupon out there for the 56" box. I personally (my opinion) do not think there is ANY possibility whatsoever they will not release a coupon for the new gloss box, unless they lower the official retail price. At $599 there are certainly many more boxes...
