how many sharpenings can you get out of a chainsaw chain?

Not mentioned yet is the bar condition. Worn grooves will allow a chain to wander side to side and cause crooked cuts. I replace them, but I saw a utube where a guy was using a roller to tighten groove.

how many sharpenings can you get out of a chainsaw chain?

There is no magic number for the "number" of strokes per tooth. I don't believe in the method of measuring the shortest tooth and making them all the same, that's wasting the chain. But you have to file each tooth until it's sharp, there should be NO shine to the tooth edge. Any shine is not...

    Advice…

Looks fine to me. With all that roofing, the diaphragm effect will keep it all from racking.

Pressure test in concrete slab tubing

This makes sense. If new work, I would test maybe up to 100, I would leave pressure on during the concrete work but at a lower pressure, maybe 50. I would think pex could be easier to puncture if rock hard so a little give might help. And I would leave the pressure on until put in service, which...

What brand weed killer are yall using for broadleaf weeds?

Anywhere around my house, yard and/or garden gets 45% vinegar.

    Water pressure

I would not run 110 pounds of water, never heard of a faucet/hose bib, let alone a hose rated for it. My pressure switch is a 30-50, highest I would go is 40-60. Want more, get a pressure washer.

    Outswing vs inswing

Given what/how modern materials are, I can believe a residential door could be blown open. Thanks.

    Enlighten me.

    Outswing vs inswing

The only difference between an inswing door and an outswing door is in the hardware, unless it has a glass in it, then you wouldn't want the screws to mount the glass outside. When spec'ing a door, the use and primary traffic flow determines the swing, left or right, or left reverse or right...

    Cleaning a metal roof

Yes. I saw it advertised, and bought a jug of it to try. With the old siding on my house, cleaning the siding was needed at least every other year. Jomax did a good job, but climbing a ladder and spraying Jomax on, then hosing it down takes time. So I tried the hype, and it was worthless.

    Cleaning a metal roof

In my opinion, W&F is a scam. It shows no cleaning once applied, and after several rains which they say does the work for them, did nothing.

Replacing lap siding with steel panels

The main reason I talked myself out of it, it would have be me alone doing it. And vertical is the way to go.

Replacing lap siding with steel panels

Scotto, EDCO was one of the better suppliers with detailed trim pieces. Nice looking job!

Replacing lap siding with steel panels

I looked heavily into doing that, on my house. Replacing old masonite siding. Age and extent of the work changed my mind. However there are a few companies with lots of info on trim styles needed, corners, etc. Any time you work around something like a window you have trim pieces that receives...

Why not fill and rough grade to the slab elevation, then set the forms. Fill is cheaper than concrete and you have to fill anyway.

    Types of Carbide

I stated above, I got many years of service out of the original inserts I had. There was no need to look for replacements until recently. Plus, I no longer have my FFL and doing work for others, so I'm only doing my own and for others that I have previously done barrels for and don't need the...

    Types of Carbide

The only place I've seen that sells smaller quantities is Ebay, but I haven't spent a lot of time looking for them. Ebay's business turned me off years ago, I don't trust them to offer up my credit card.

    Types of Carbide

I know the top notch has been around a long time. The info LB gave on carbide types was good, but matching those types to the top notch didn't work out so well. I will do what you suggest with Mcmaster, didn't know they sell individually. Very worth while instead of committing to 5 pieces.
