Re: Lyndon's Recuperation Space (the Garage). Hi again Lyndon, The MKII is such a cool car, undervalued. Restored a MKIV drophead once. They were so beautifully made, especially the interior.. I've always been a fan of fine grade woodworking. I'm currently trying to bring a 120 OTS back to...

Radiant Tubes in the Floor...Now What?

It is a lot of money (2995) but a Viessmann 100 would be the right ticket for your place and it's an awesome piece of equipment.

Radiant Heat-How did you secure the Pex?

I think there's nothing wrong with any of these methods- To me the bottom line is- as long as you have good insulation underneath the slab, it doesn't matter where the pex is. The heat will go into your room, not the ground.

Viessmann Boiler (is used any good)

My Vitodens 100 is a couple years old and I love it. It's efficient and runs quietly, good as the day it was new. My shop is 2000sq' and it heats it no problem. Makes a hell of a lot of condensate though! On a super cold day it could make over 4 gallons! Make sure you get and install the...

2 Car Garage in Columbus, Ohio

Yes it's a great bunch of guys there. I've been going to the event for probably close to 15 years. http://www.mini-iac.com/Event-Details/PID/78 Sorry to say, the older .30 nitro choppers are not worth much today- you can buy new for pretty darn cheap. Keep it and fly it! Don

2 Car Garage in Columbus, Ohio

Good job on your shop! I come near your way once a year (from Canada) to the RC flying field near the Alum Creek Dam for the aerobatics contest. Just mentioning that cuz I see the choppers hanging on your wall!

Finally ready to fill this thing

This can easily happen on a first fill up. If there is fairly slow flow rates in your loops and you have some high spots in the tubes (might have moved around some during the concrete pour) then the air will hang around in the high areas. Hit it harder with the flow rate like you did, doing...

    show car assy-help needed

Masking tape is your friend. Word of warning though, don't leave it on more than a week or so. It will cause grief! I have over 30 guys in my restoration shop, and even with the most careful procedures, yes you do get some chips and marks now and again. Pretty hard to compress a coil...

    40x60x12.5 lighting

T8's were the best compromise for me $$ wise. My shop is 40x50x12.5 and white steel inside also. Make your shop nice and bright, and you will love working in there. I put in 3 solid rows end to end, each row individually switched, and for the row closest to the man doors, it is 3 way switched.

Finally ready to fill this thing

Yep air will make noise for sure. Run the pump by itself for a couple days without the hwh running. It could take a few days to get the air out. Microbubbles! Mine took almost a week to get silent. Though when I built my system, i put the air separator on the cold side instead of the hot side...

    Go Jak style dollies

I have an old original set of Gojacks at the shop and we've beat them pretty hard. They're finally getting a bit worn out now after 15yrs.

    Critique my Boiler Heater Board.

Looks good! I sure appreciate the info learned on GJ also. If the garage is not divided up into multi zones, then I don't think you'll ever need to use all those loop valves. If your loops are all about equal length within reason, it will balance out well. That black pipe will rust though.

HELP!! My mom might freeze to death....

I have one of these monsters. Last year mine was running intermittently. It was doing just as you describe. I finally figured it out though! Nobody else would even try. The gas valve solenoid was intermittently going open circuit, which would cause the symptom that you describe. It would fire...

    I think I screwed up

Can you at least use the old line for something else, like water or air?

    I think I screwed up

Sounds like too much heater for that space, but that all depends on your insulation etc etc. My 2000' shop runs with 80-90 Kbtu and it takes a dead cold day to make it use all the btus. I think it has a 1" line running 130' for ref. thx
