best bench top dust pan and brush?

I personally like the large aluminum dust pans... they're light, durable, and carry a lot in one scoop. As for a brush, any one will do the job however I like the horse hair variety the best, they don't gather or attract dirt in the brush hairs like the nylon ones.

    Floor nail gun suggestions?

That's the one. Search around for a coupon that will bring the price down a bit... I think I have seen them discounted to about $100.

    Floor nail gun suggestions?

Porta/Stanley-Bostitch/Porter-Cable, floor nailers seem to be the ones professionals use. As a DIY’er I’ve used all of them and had no problems. However, I have also used the China made knock-offs and had equally good success. The last two hardwood floor installations I did were with HF...

    Wheels for table saw

If your table saw is mounted on a base with tapered legs similar to the picture you posted, Sears use to sell a caster kit for these (pictured below). If they no longer have them, look on ebay… I see them there quite often. However if it were me, I’d get a good universal base and be done with...

I'm building a 3" Douglas Fir butcher block workbench. It's too soft. Finish tips?

Re: I'm building a 3" Douglas Fir butcher block workbench. It's too soft. Finish tips Years ago I had good success finishing a Douglas fir workbench top with Polyurethane. I applied a heavy first coat, thinned 50%. The idea behind this is for the Poly to evenly penetrate the wood fiber. It...

Bora 10-pc. Pistol Grip Clamp Combo

The Bora edge clamps and spring clamps work well, but I can’t say the same for Bora pistol grip bar clamps. I purchased several on sale from Woodcraft… two broke the first time I used them -- they couldn’t take the clamping force that I applied. My Irwin’s are much better.

What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

I incorporated the same type of ladder storage in my garage a few months back. Nothing fancy… I used scrap 2x4’s and eyeballed the dimensions and location. It’s a great solution to getting ladders up off the floor and utilizing some unused space.

Browne and Sharpe 8 pc Drive Punch Set - $11.59 at Amazon

Per my conversation with B&S customer service today, I found out the 599-767 Punch set is no longer made in USA. Apparently B&S could not be competitive paying the increasing high cost of manufacture from their U.S. supplier. The B&S rep. told me they would have to raise the price 4x's current...

Browne and Sharpe 8 pc Drive Punch Set - $11.59 at Amazon

I spoke to an Amazon rep and explained that the punch set appeared to be bogus. I asked if the punch sets were coming from B&S or a 3rd party supplier. He said all indications are they came from B&S. Best he could do is offer a refund.

Browne and Sharpe 8 pc Drive Punch Set - $11.59 at Amazon

That’s not a presumption that I’m willing to hang my hat on. I have no idea how/why the sale price got listed on Amazon at 11.49. For all I know a price reduction was initiated to liquidate some stock… and perhaps it generated a high demand, and someone is filling that demand. I just don’t...

Browne and Sharpe 8 pc Drive Punch Set - $11.59 at Amazon

I agree, Amazon would not be orchestrating this “switch”, more likely a Hexagon maneuver. These punch sets are the same/similar to those sold by Epstein’s which are distributed by PEC (#6300-008). Numerous tool suppliers sell this same set ranging in price from about $15 to upwards of $60...

    Band Saw ID

If it is complete and in running condition, it could be a nice bandsaw. However, a saw of that vintage is likely to need servicing… perhaps tires, bearings, guides, etc. Also check closely for cracks in the castings and especially the table trunnions. The asking price seems a bit high, but...
