Replacing cooktop, need to increase wire/breaker size

In my own house I would try in the existing wiring. There was a time not that long ago 2 pole 40a breakers were scarce so some stoves got a 2p 30. Haven't heard of any problems yet. However. We could all be wrong and the new appliance will actually draw up to 45 or more amps.

Insulating the 2x4 walls of attached garage

What part of Manitoba. I grew up in the south west part. Definitely hot and cold. If you have the time, strapping out the walls is a really good plan. In my opinion anything more (spray foam, styrofoam) is more than necessary. I have a detached garage with 2x6 walls and r30 in the attic...

    Sub panel, Delta/Wye requirements.

I find that interesting. In my part of Canada that would not pass. I will ask my inspector or engineer about this kind of thing the next time they are chatty.

Floor receptacle for 110 and 220v in Concrete shop floors.

I have 2 floor boxes in my garage. They don't come close to meeting the letter of the code. But guess what....it's been fine for 7 years already. In fact according to the CEC (I'm in Canada) it's very difficult (expensive) to meet the letter of the law for floor boxes in a residential garage...

Tricks and Ideas to fish camera wires in an exterior wall

How much access do you have from beneath. If you can drill through the bottom plate into the wall then you can run a fish tape up the wall and with a little bit of luck pull it out of the hole behind the camera. If you can't drill directly up you will have to get creative.
