Snap On doesn't manufacture all of the products they sell. Compare Snap-On RTD48 and Lang 971. Lang absolutely manufacturers that product and Snappy rebrands it. It isn't a knock on Snap-On, but they don't make every tool that they sell. I have plenty of Snap On stuff, but I also shop around...
Polar air compressors motors run at about 1750 rpm and pump speed is less than 700 rpms, so they are supposed to run pretty quiet. 7.5 hp are available at that price point. I have no personal experience with them, but I've seen some pretty good reviews.
Don't skimp on the torque wrenches. If I were looking to spend x amount of dollars on more than one torque wrench. The torque range based on the work you do would determine how I would select the torque wrenches. Spend more money on the torque wrench that is going to be used the most. My 3/8"...
Do you have an unlimited data plan for your cell phone? You could hotspot your phone and use it as the access point for internet usage in the garage for your laptop, tablet etc.
Not an ideal solution, but it would work in the interim.
I bought a harbor freight refrigerated air dryer and the thing works like a champ. My air is moisture free. The automatic drain that comes with it is garbage so I replaced it with a quality unit from a reputable company. I've been totally happy with it since I bought it.
My local advance auto will price match to amazon and rockauto if the part number is exactly the same. They do factor the shipping cost into the total price.
Today I picked up a Yost 204 in pretty good shape, and yesterday I bought a Bonney R701 3/4" drive ratchet and 22 sockets. The sockets have definitely seen better days. Most of the sockets are Indestro. Some are Craftsman circle K stamped. They are in the worst shape and currently reside in...
I'll throw in my two cents. I was in a similar situation as yourself. I went a long time without a torch outfit in my shop. Now that I have it I use it much more than I originally expected. I too thought that the idea of buying a portable torch setup would be more than enough for my needs...
Give Marcuse and son a call. They were able to email me a copy of the servicing manual and tolerance spec sheet for my LeRoi Dresser 5000 pump. Hopefully they could help you out with information on that particular pump. http://www.marcusecompressor.com
+1 on installing a ball valve. I ran into the same problem at home with my wife and kids trying to hook up an inflator to a quick connect. I placed the ball valve immediately before the regulator. Now all they need to do is open or close the ball valve lever to cut in the air and the...
This #6 appears to be strikingly similar with the raised circle around the Paramo, versus my example where the Paramo is inset. No matter what, if it was made in England, it's should be a quality piece that will serve you well.
I have a Dremel with the cable drive attachment as well as straight and angle die grinders. The die grinders with carbide burrs are hands down better for grinding metal. With a good assortment of burrs you can grind pretty much in any nook and cranny. The Dremel has it's place for sure, but...
