    Stem wall will be 8" block, any reason the blocks above floor level can't be 6"?

    getting ready to start my garage, can I attach the bottom plate of my stud wall directly to the the block stem wall or should I attach a sill plate first and then the stud wall to that? Stem wall will be aprox 18" above grade do I need to use pressure treated lumber for the bottom plate?
