    Planning my Multi-function Shop (Wood/Metal/Auto)

I am also in the process of revamping my single car garage into a shop space. I am also involved with woodworking and metal working. This is really a first attempt for me to do this as we have only been at the house for 3 years and it has mostly been storage space. I am phasing out my open...

    Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

Thank you guys. Here's the link for the power strip: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WVB21VB/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I think they have them in 6" increments. It'll take a little searching around on Amazon to find them but shorter ones kept showing up.

    Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

I adapted a 6’ stainless power strip made for Lista work benches to my box. Some spray paint and gloss clear and from the front it is good enough in garage lighting to not tell the difference unless you start examining. Keeps stuff from rolling off the back. Best of all is no drilling in the...

Lets see your Tool Carts/Service Carts

Summit Racing has the lowest prices I could find on Ernst items. I've gotten a bunch through them. Good stuff.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

So not the best picture but you can get the idea (humans for scale). Tailstock on the left side there. I miss certain things about that job, the impressive picture opportunities were always there when the 100 ton spreader beam came off the floor. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

The craftsman name still carries a lot of weight

One of the first things I said to my Dad when we were unloading my newly purchased Buffalo Forge No. 15 drill press was, "How many holes do you think this has drilled since the late '50's?" and then the next comment was "I hope my grandson likes it when the time comes."

    Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

After looking at my box, I don't think you can move drawers. If you look at how the latches grab, the catch is welded to the frame. I was looking at swapping some drawers around but I don't think it can be done. If someone finds something otherwise please let us know.

The craftsman name still carries a lot of weight

 This has been one of the most civilized conversations I've seen on social media in a while. A solid discussion on education, economics, big business, politics,... and Craftsman tools.

The craftsman name still carries a lot of weight

So the workforce is flooded with graduate degree qualified people but Mike Rowe is still saying there are thousands of jobs in the trades going unfilled? My brother-in-law got 3 college degrees from bachelors (2) to masters (1) and could not find work. Now he's working for a plumber and going...

The craftsman name still carries a lot of weight

Starting with the teachers pay; my sub-par public school district that I graduated from in 2008 had teachers on strike 3 years ago demanding more money when the lowest paid HS teacher was over $85k a year. I just feel like the spending is being thrown in a fire. Schools are more worried about...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

So here I am after reading 2600+ posts in this thread over the last few weeks. An inspiration and a kick in the **** to say the least to get my projects tackled and get me garage to shop transformation underway. Since I've started reading this thread I've: -started following you in Instagram...

The craftsman name still carries a lot of weight

I agree with this. There isn't a class in High School that explains how debt, loans, or interest rates work, let alone how to balance a check book and create a budget. Where does good parenting and the education system supposed to intersect? Is how to figure out your personal finances on...

The craftsman name still carries a lot of weight

Considering this thread took a massive detour we're committed now. This is interesting to me, as well is the post about lack of people capable of being in the factories that produce these tools. The world is changing, I've only been in industry (power generation, power distribution, and...

    Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

I agree with liking the drawer layout. If I could the only change I would make is a matching 5' high drawer on the left bank above the tall bottom drawer like the right bank has. I would also like to have seen higher weight drawer slides but if you look at Snap On Classic 96 boxes that are...

    Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

I was told the same thing about the online reserve and was told they could not match that price in the store. They gave me $50 off of the $1299. I was out the door at $1337 with tax. Glad I went with the blue and loving the quality/fit and finish of the box. Feels similar and as sturdy as my...

    Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

Anyone have a green one yet? Would like to see some pics. Also, was on the napa website today and if you reserve online it said 10% off. So, pricing I saw was $1169. Not sure of the process or if orange or green is avaliable for the price or how long that offer is good for.

Fabricating a Snap-On KRL1099PBO 'like' toolbox out of the shell of a Harbor Freight

Bree, great build! I’m having a hard time visualizing what provisions were done to guide the cable carrier chain to roll. The last image of the chain showedit laid across the bottom of the shell and you mention an angle bracket for it, but I’m just not seeing what space itis rolling in. I’m...

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

I took my 52" box home and got the cart because I didn't need everything and went to the basics. We'll the shop has expanded and so has my range of needs. I'm just looking at I can add a side cab for under $200 instead of $400 for a whole new box and the hassle of selling the one year old cart...

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

There has been a few posts lately about enclosing the bottom of the carts. I posted more images and better descriptions on page 87 post #1722. I used the three shelf HF cart as a donor of red powdercoated sheet metal. I think a side cab is coming in the near future. I'm running out of room...
