New Icon G2 Wrenches? (Not just Ratchets)

I havent been in a Napa in decades. We had a bunch of independently owned Napas around. Then some assclown appeared, bought them all, and merged them into one company. A couple years later, he decided to become a Carquest. So now we have more Advance and Carquest stores than you can complain...

Today I finally got around to the the project I bought this thing for. Wow, what a win. If you ever need one of these, I'd recommend the Astro. I was actually surprised how well it worked. Not that I expected anything less from Astro, but the damn thing worked like magic! And I hadn't...

Problem with that is if you need to reuse the sensors. Some of them are pretty pricy.

    Snap On deal?

I'd say rough estimate $1000 new retail. If you bought all that at once, in cash, from a dealer, you could likely negotiate at least 10% off, more if you're a regular. Not the worst deal ever, but far from the best.

Icon G2 Ratchets vs Snap On

I had a low mileage one as a rental last year. The interior quality and fit and finish reminded me of the 90s. There was something annoying about the way it drove but I can't remember what that was. I rent a lot of cars for business; usually reserving a "luxury" car, which typically gets me...

Husqvarna power washer engine is not starting

The only way to check the timing is to remove the recoil assembly and the cup it engages on the crankshaft. You may be able to see if the key slot in the flywheel and the one on the crankshaft are lined up. If you cant see both keyways, the flywheel will have to be removed to ensure the key is...

    Matco triple bay. Bought it!

That's a way nicer box than anything new you'll find for the same money. I bet it'll clean up nice and if you ever sell it you'll probably get more for it than you paid. Well done.

Blue Point at big box stores

I can't help but wonder if those hammers were made by Vaughan and this is part of an overstock clearance by Marshalltown.

What’s the use case for the new tekton 1/2” drive large impacts up to 50mm?

Second generation (94-01) Ram 1500 front axle nuts are 43mm/1-11/16". A 3/4" drive impact socket will usually not fit in the hub, but a 1/2" drive will. VW vans used 46mm rear axle nuts from the 60s through the 90s. Flywheel nuts for air cooled VWs come in 36, 42, and 44mm. I own/owned...

New USA made SK chrome sockets? Any good? Same as the old?

That would somewhat make sense. Wright generally focuses on the industrial market. But their great tools could do well at home and in the trades if they marketed and served those groups. SK is more of a consumer oriented brand. No idea if it'll actually work, but if it causes more tools to be...

    Swapping ratchet/screwdriver handles

I mangled the tip of my 90* mini pick. Handed it to my dealer, he put the shaft in his vise, handle hanging down. He used a pair of pliers around the shaft, whacked the pliers with a soft face hammer, and popped the handle off. New shaft upright in the vise, tapped the handle on, rotated some...

Snap on set on eBay 😮

Just another ebay clown trying to capitalize on Snap-Ons discontinuation (for the most part) of hard handle ratchets (again). Personal opinion: The discontinuation is because they're trying to force the 100t "Cynergy" ratchets that no one wants on us, rather than admit they might have been...
