    dubber's double

Glad my project thread proved to be useful to you when planning your build. I must admit after reading through your thread, I somewhat regret not getting the free flow tiles, at least where the wife parks. The slush and salt sure makes a mess. I also get a build-up of ice under the tiles where...

    My 19x20 Garage

Ah he's been hiding in here... :) Lookin' good lookin' good! Not that I haven't been following on PB, but it's good to see this up on Garage Journal. Don't you worry, I haven't forgotten about all those fluids residing under my race deck. As soon as you get your dance floor installed I'll be...

    dubber's double

Yup, I just went through your thread and I recognize you're place. I'm right around the corner off Kilbirnie. I noticed my brother, Ripcurl, has posted in this thread just recently as well (he has the black B6 S4). Small world indeed! I drive by your place almost daily and I've noticed your cars...

    dubber's double

Hey dubber, I'm pretty sure we live in the same neighbourhood... like around the corner from each other. And live in the same model house. I just noticed your project thread today, but remembered you've posted in mine before. Looks like I have my night cut out for me reading through your 48...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Hey guys! It's been too long since I've updated this thread. To answer some of the previous posts, yes, I'm still using the garage and adding to it, although slowly. The past four years have changed considerably for me, with a marriage and 2 kids. Since my last update the biggest change has...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

The floor has taken a bit of a beating over the past couple years. If I were to replace any tile with a new one it would stand out like a sore thumb. I'll try and grab some detail pictures of some of the carnage. gtcs1: Obviously building ramps like this, or any 'homemade auto lift' of any...

Car wash at night: Suspension overhaul on the new Audi: Old Audi disassembly: Right before being hauled off for scrap: The clutch on the new Audi started feeling weird, and I was getting fed up with painstakingly jacking up the car, so I built a set of ramps to help get the car up...

Hey guys, I haven't really been on GJ in several months and didn't realize people had posted on this thread! Thanks for the compliments, I'll try and address some of the questions even though the posters might not see them. I also have some updates... Racedeck - 1.5 years after installation...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Thanks a lot clutch! It's been slow going but progress is being made. Not a lot left to do actually, lights at some point, some wall art, maybe some shelving on the other side... not sure yet. I'll keep the pictures rolling, especially with spring around the corner and a bunch of new projects...

Thanks guys! Unfortunately I did not make it out to any events. The engine stopped working in January and I haven't bothered to look into the problem yet. I've been taking the bus and borrowing cars when absolutely necessary. So far so good. The weather is getting better and the BMW is almost...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Hey guys, Not a big update but I have made a couple changes in the garage lately. I built a shelf for car wash supplies out of sheets of 3/4" pine: Also hung a few weapons of mass destruction and wrenches on the wall behind the bench. VERY handy having the wrenches at arms reach!

My photobucket account came back to life on the 5th, and I added a couple more pictures. I added lights under the shelf above the main bench. I also added some fastener bins. I need to grab a few more to complete the square but it's a start. A wheel bearing on the Audi is almost completely...

Thanks dykstra! I worked on the shelf again today. Not quite finished but I'm very close. Here's a picture of how I fastened the bracing. I started the screws into the brace, then held the brace in place with a clamp on one of the screws. Nice and tight and was my third hand! I...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Hey guys, Just a quick update for tonight... I'm working on a 10 foot shelf above the main bench. I should be finished on the weekend along with a few ideas I have in mind for the wall underneath. I think it will look good and be functional! The height from the ceiling is 17", enough to fit...
