    GunMoto's 20x20 [GARAGE UPGRADE] (56k Go Grab a Snack)

Your garage is looking really good! I like the colors you chose... although it's hard to see the walls anymore! Nice bimmer, too. Are they 18x10 on the front as well? Also, where did you get your garage door insulation, if you don't mind me asking?

Glad to be Alive... Close call...

Glad to hear this story has a good ending!!! I can picture your son at school next week saying "..yeah well MY dad bench pressed the TRUCK then got up and called his own ambulance!!" You're one tough dude!

    work benches... from scratch

Thanks for the info, Crizzle. I like the idea of using 2x'whatever' for the top. Cheap and easy to replace, like you said. Did you do anything to help reduce the groove where they meet up? Know what I mean? For the main bench in my garage I laminated 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood, 30"x96". I want to...

    work benches... from scratch

Hey Crizzle, what are you using for your top?? How have you fastened it to the base? And, that's probably one of the nicest benches I've seen!

    SOW Headquarters

Hah, I was looking at those heaters in the Princess Auto flyer today at work! $430 is a great price, are they on sale at Big R? I've never heard of that store before. Did you get it shipped over, or did you pick it up in Montana? Your garage looks like it's coming along real nice.

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Good points PC06, I'll have to bimble down to Home Depot and see what they have... mat, truthfully I never thought about heat loss in that area, my only concern was appearance. I'll have another think about it but in the end I'll probably just end up painting.

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

I look forward to seeing you there! PC06: That's a great idea. Those windows have always been in the back of my mind, and I like the idea of being able to remove the covers on sunny days. I wonder how well corrugated plastic sheets would work? I think I'll be dealing with this sooner than...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Well, you should come out anyway, even if it's just to check out the action. It's a lot of fun and you're guaranteed to see a few cars thunder through massive snow banks! Most drivers are willing to take passengers along during their runs as well. As for the foundation walls, I was thinking of...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Thanks for the compliments, guys! The yellow wires are for the 5.1 surround sound. I've been thinking about a small flat screen that I could hook the laptop up to for videos and browsing parts catalogues. I'd probably put it above the main work bench. Yes, the space is nice! But, even a...

Motorsport Club of Ottawa (www.mco.org). Mostly in the winter series, but I didn't race last winter because I was out of town. The events are held at Capital City Speedway off highway 7. What do you drive? You should try an event, or maybe do the winter driving school they offer. Google 'Rick...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Last weekend I built an auxiliary work bench on the opposite side of the garage from the big one. I will use this bench for light duty work, no big vise, no grinder, just another work surface to compliment the other. The work surface is 16"x72". I believe the height is 35-3/4", or thereabouts. I...

Very very very nice!!! I like the use of the smaller cabinets above your bench. You're giving me ideas :)

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Hey everyone, I took some pictures of the garage last weekend, see below. Since the last update I've mostly just tidied up, painted the door, added some wall art and bought a shelf and half a tool box (lower half will be added shortly). Next I have to sort out wall shelves, lights, stereo, get...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Thanks guys. I started with the red and needed 6 coats on the OSB (no primer). Keep in mind I'm relatively new to painting, especially OSB. For the rest, I primed then painted. BIG difference. For the white, primer + 2 coats of white. For the gray, primer + 1 coat of gray. The OSB texture...

    Barry's 18x20 Garage

Hey guys, Time for a quick update! I've been out of town for the past few months so progress with the garage has been slow, but I was home for a week and managed to paint (most of) the garage. The reason I say 'most' is because I've only painted half the ceiling. I used Behr exterior Mat...
