Would you swap to a smaller air Compressor?

I came across this thread again - I sold my 2HP/30Gal Craftsman this morning and bought the CAT-10020 to replace it on sale from Home Depot's website (Amazon was 2 months to ship). Should have it in a week or so. I'm really hoping this "downgrade" will be a great improvement!

Who's using HF dead blow hammers (not ball peen) ?

That's kind of interesting. At my last job we switched to the HF dead blows because they were full of lead shot over the sand (or whatever) in the snap-ons - it was much easier to clean up the HF mess if they did break near open hydraulics. ...of course, some might argue that we shouldn't have...

I dunno, all those cloud-based cameras creep me out.

    Hanson Socket Trays

The other nice thing about the harbor freight trays is that they really easy to re-label if you need to add/remove socket sizes - I printed out the new size on some white on black label tape and slapped over the original labels. You almost can't tell the difference.

    Harbor Freight Impact Socket Set

Am I missing something? All of the 3/8" and 1/2" metric impact socket sets I've checked on Harbor Freight include 19mm sockets.

    Harbor Freight Impact Socket Set

I also have the Pittsburgh Pro set - just for home use but, no complaints. I haven't been brave/cheap enough to try the non-Pro versions yet.

    Guiding a storage lift?

For about $1.8k - $2.5k there's the Versa Lift attic storage elevator or the Loft-It wall hoist if you want to buy something. Someone here built a track for their hoist out of unistrut and unistrut trolley pulleys. relatively cheap and easy FWIW.

Is there a 3/8" female to 1/2" male impact extension/adapter?

I'm not having any luck finding any 3" extension-adapters that go up in size just now. Can you buy 3/8" sockets in the size you need? For example, there's plenty of 3/8" drive impact sockets up to 3/4" or 19mm. If you get deep sockets and you may not need the extension at all.

Rack ideas for tackle compartment organizer cases?

Making something yourself is pretty easy. You can buy a "Plano Molding 974 StowAway Organizer Rack" if you just want to buy something and are using the 3700 series bins (and don't like 442stu's wire racks for some reason)

    Motorcycle Roadracing Garage

I never tried those - they looked like borderline more effort than they were worth (two much screwing the handles down). Although, back then I just bungeed the stands on the floor in a corner of the trailer. Really sharp looking rig! I'm jealous. ;)

    Motorcycle Roadracing Garage

I will say that the current version of the FastTrack Vertical Bike Hooks do work great - The older ones just might work better with the PitBulls. I hang 'em with the wheels resting on the FastTrack rail - very solid and easy to take on and off. I usually store the fork lift converter detached...

    Motorcycle Roadracing Garage

Oooh, I haven't seen those kind of Rubbermaid FastTrack Bike hooks before! I'm using these (P/N 5E02) for front and rear stands (the compact hooks for single-sided swingarm stands): The tire support is neat though! Is that an older model? It doesn't have the clamp handle they like now. I can...

oil drain pan that doesn't leak?

Ooh, I like that! Solves two problems: storing it and then getting it there. As a drain pan, I cut another pail in half, dropped a riser screen in it and it lives on top of the pail draining into it. If I need something lower profile to drain oil into I use a cheap 6qt plastic drain pan that...

oil drain pan that doesn't leak?

I use a "5 gallon steel pail w/ spout" to store used motor oil. It certainly doesn't leak FWIW.

HF Scissor Lift w/25% off coupon?

I don't have it but, it's on my short list! $1000 and even if I down rate it a bit for the HF branding it should still comfortably handle the 3000-4000 lbs vehicles I want to lift. I have been thinking about the $1400 Atlas MR-06 midrise scissor lift from gregsmithequipment.com but, mostly...
