Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT New home and 3 car garage in Melbourne, Australia

I know that area quite well, went to Primary and High School in the area, so a quick google map confirmed your location. My Mum also lives in Monash council and i had a quick run over their ammendments when she got a flyer in the mail about it. And all what you bring up are definite...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT New home and 3 car garage in Melbourne, Australia

Welcome geoff. If you're where i think you are you've lucked out as far as councils go. They recently changed all their guidelines as far as block coverage and green spaces which im sure you're well aware of. Will be stopping past to check the progress.

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Gave the shed floor a wash yesterday as i couldnt face another day of dealing with solicitors and engineers and phonecalls so i procrastinated and did the floor. Levels are all over the place, worst is probably at the door that goes uphill and rakes off to the side when water is pushed towards it.

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Thanks HOTFR8, it's kind of sad knowing i'll never drive that truck again. That 400HP CAT used to whistle it's head off and the noise it made on gear changes (20 Speed Spicer) was phenomenal :( As for the floor, that patch went away after 2 to 3 months. And hasnt come back since which is good...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Thanks for stopping past Rudi  At first i didnt know there was an issue with the levels, my biggest concern was actually a large spot that didnt dry. Which is likely moisture from under the slab as they didnt use a barrier. I didnt bother contacting him because it was a shut door and...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Shed is finally clean and sorted: I might crack out the pressure washer tomorrow and try and get rid of the caked on mud that was under the cars the last time the old drain failed.

Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Rudi's Datsun resto and late nights shed in Australia.

Cool thread Rudi, you've certainly had some luck fall your way as far as the stove and gear you've scored from your work. Will be popping past to check the progress on the car for sure. Cheers.

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Shed content update:- Today was spent with more cleaning and organising all the various **** that has accumulated in piles due to no storage space. After a lot of pushing and heaving i got the 240 pushed right over in the corner. It sits almost half a metre closer to the side wall than the...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Thanks 1/2 Cup I found it to be the easiest way to get the cuts all as close to uniform as possible. When i tried a few weeks ago at doing them freehand by the time i'd turned them over a few times and with the visor down i didnt know which way was up almost :lol_hitti Indeed i have, had to do...

Do you hum Pink Floyd while you're building the wall by chance? :p That's a really good idea, for all the reasons you set out.

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

:thumbup: Had to go out last night for my Sisters birthday so didnt get to post a shed update like i was going to. I got around to finishing the first bench and then got stuck into making a second. The first one was fairly easy as the legs i'd bolted on and then cut down to size once...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

HOTFR8, thanks. I certainly hope his level of caring goes as far as the responsibility of their signatories to do the job at hand and not leave somebody with a product that isnt right rather than just use it as a fact finding mission to condemn the engineer and throw me to the wolves as far as...

    Wellcome to Siberia

Wow what a read! I've enjoyed reading this thread as much for the garage stuff as learning about a different culture and country which is absolute worlds apart from the one in which i live. The idea of the temperature being that cold is something we never have to worry about even in winter...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Set for another hot one this weekend. I've set up a misting spray outside on the A/C unit to try and cool down the coils as it struggles in the late afternoon sun. Brick walls, flat metal roof and no insulation.:shocking: Bit of an update on this. Truck passed through roadworthy and then the...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Has been hot the last couple of days. Turned out that 2 of my jobs fell on those days. So on Thursday i found myself following a road crew around scraping and laying gravel for drainage and then reinstating top soil. Fridays job was a bit harder to cope with the heat, pulled 40 cube out...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Lyndon's Western Sydney Garage (amongst life's other stories).

:lol::lol: Did your Aunt happen to call up ABC radio about this theft? I remember a few years ago sitting in a customers car and they were doing a story on the supernatural. And a lovely older lady rang up claiming she had ghosts that were shortening her garden hose every week. If the...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

I originally (well over 15 months ago now) bought this unit for storage racking. It was originally meant to sit on 1.8m legs so would give me space to store larger items underneath it. This is the best pic i have of it, which incidentally was the day i changed it. I cut the legs off at a...
