    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Believe it or not, i have one of those, but i need to rejig the levels a tad. I made the error when i was setting the levels when i redid the driveway the first time. You can see in this pic the slab is 100mm higher than Ngl which i then put crushed rock over which wouldnt have been an issue...

Can all stay connected, tip off the trailer and then you essentially jack-knife the trailer and tip the truck more or less on top of the trailer pile.

Keep the truck **** coming, no complaints here.:bounce::bounce: I can imagine the Scania is a nice bit of kit to drive. What is it they say about it takes a man to drive a Kenworth but a real man to admit he'd rather drive the Volvo/Scania/Euro? I've got an 86 W Model, so maybe im a bit...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Certainly will be. Once this top layer dries off a bit after the rain im going to strip the whole top layer back about 100mm. There is a trench that i dug along the front of the door and put 3m of plastic U drain in there but the levels arent quite spot on to catch the water and keep it away. so...

Great news on the scan, also loving the Kenworths. Gotta love a good cabover. The newer gen sloped cabs on the bonneted Kenworths dont overly do it for me, what's the turning circle like on that one?

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

I had a small fiddle with the door after the last rain event we had when it filled the shed and it looks like it worked as i had maybe 3L of water enter the shed and luckily only sit by the door even with all the rain we had over the weekend. Still need to pull out the drain and re-lay it all...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced a gusset on the W Model Kenworth, technically it was parked out the front of the shed but i was in and out all day.

Sheddwellers. (The Extension) + other property projects.

For a storm that was being billed as 10/10 for intensity by Meteorolgists, it hasnt eventuated to much. Which in all isnt a bad thing. Nothing worse than having to sweep out your shed or house when water's gone through it.

Skid Steer - $15k budget - what to buy

Tracks are far more expensive than a wheeled machine to maintain. You have tracks and rollers to replace and maintain. Get a good cut in a track and it's all but finished. Get a puncture in a tyre and it's a case of getting it fixed (or not if it's a solid tyre) and you're back in business...

Thanks for all the pictures HOTFR8...making me wish i'd come along now. I checked out that trailer at the HCVC day at Yarra glen racecourse earlier this month. Checked out the back of the "trailer" and yup...had stone chips from being towed behind a vehicle :bounce: Was one of the highlights...

Enjoying reading through the thread, and especially the car and welding related stuff. ***** that you've had issues with your Epoxy coating on the floor, i read the thread from the end back after the first few pages and was thinking how good it looked by the bench/under the engine stand to not...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Part 5 - Changes and Lessons. If i was to do something like this again, i would start the permit process much sooner to avoid a timeline blowout like i had with my BOE permissions. It took ages for the council to give me permission to build over an easement that the water authority gave me a 2...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Thanks HOTFR8, it was one of the things i made sure i did at the start was to try and chronicle my build as best as possible through every stage. Unfortunatly i had to be at work when it was being delivered and constructed and the FIL isnt the best with mobile camera technology so i missed those...

    Sab's Shed - Longterm Project

Part 4 - Concrete. Once i had the electrical side of things half sorted out i booked in with the concreter to have the pour done. The crushed rock had already been layed down when the cut was done, so this meant i didnt need to get more in, or hand spread it which is always a big plus. 7am...

elec box on opposite side of house from panel in garage

I was going to suggest something similar. When i had my shed put in i got the electrician to run it in conduit just under the gutter along the back side of the house. (white conduit, white gutter, white fascia) saved me digging 50+ metres of trench and having to deal with the water main.
